Joan Farino

Doing a closing scheduled at 3pm today. Found a document in the package that Notary ASAP was hired by Joan Farino at Fortis Title. I've had bad experiences with her in the past. Can anyone tell me what the lastest is on her?

Does it really matter? Your agreement is with Notary ASAP - as long as you've got a written fee agreement and that you'll be paid within a specific time, paid if a no-sign or a rescinded loan and paid regardless of whether Fortis Title has paid them or not, Joan Farino doesn't enter the equation.

Seems to me it is an issue. If they don't get paid what are the chances that I will be paid? My recourse is the same regardless of who I am contracted with. It's difficult to get paid when there is a link missing in the chain.

If you know this, why would you take the assignment? You did the work, you should be paid, it's not your fault the loan didn't close. I would never work for someone with that policy.

No, I am scheduled for today. I just wanted input as far as new experiences. Doesn't matter now....I turned it down. Gas is high, closing is far and I've seen enough bad stuff about Joan Farino and don't want anything to do with her.

Re: Joan Farino...that's why I said this in the agreement

"as long as you've got a written fee agreement and that you'll be paid within a specific time, paid if a no-sign or a rescinded loan and paid regardless of whether Fortis Title has paid them or not"

1. They agree to your fee..signing fee $XXX; no-sign fee $xx; rescinded loan $XXX
2. They pay in xx days;
3. They pay no matter funding status;
4. Your pay is not contingent on Fortis paying them.

Title's payment to SS shouldn't enter the picture until you have to sue the SS for non-payment.

I've never based my decision to work for a SS on who the title company or title company employee is - my decision is based on the SS alone and its reputation both generally and with me personally.

Notary ASAP - for the record, Velvet will pay you, no matter

Check Signing Central - you will find that Notary ASAP is one of the best. Your agreement is with Velvet, and she pays on time, every time.

Velvet w/Notary ASAP is one of the best.

I wouldn't worry about getting paid by her.
