Lexis-Nexis Background check

Does anybody knows if they require to run your credit because one company is asking for on BC either from LN or NNA.

My problem is that I put a credit freeze on my file and it's been like that since 2006, I renew my commission on 2009 and in CA we are screen with the DOJ and never asked for my credit freeze to be lifted.

The gentleman that helped at LexisNexis told me that I needed to lift my credit freeze in order to run the check, is this really true? He wasn't sure 100% of this fact.

My question here is: Why it wasn't a problem with DOJ when I renew my commission and now it is?

By the way this is been requested by LSI.

In order to lift my credit freeze there is a 10.00 dollar charge per each credit bureau and you have to provide your original pin sent to you when you originally froze your file. Oh yeah I am going to find that PIN, thanks for your help and answers.

Just received my Lexis-Nexis Background Check last week

They do NOT do a credit check. Everything else like you wouldn't believe, but not a credit check--so I see no reason why you would have to lift your freeze for something they don't do anyway. You are aware of the totally free annual Full Disclosure report from Lexis-Nexis, right?

Agree with Lee/AR - there's no credit check info on my free LexisNexis BGC from Nov 2009. LSI accepted my BGC.

I asked LSI if I could get my own and they said sure. So I got the free one and emailed it in. Saved myself some bucks!

Very heavy on insurance-related stuff (Auto/home) & previous addresses. Actually, only 1 page out of some 26 or so was relevant to what we need. At least, that was mine. ymmv~~

Re: Just received my Lexis-Nexis Background Check last week

I check that out also. The LN "personal" background check isn't a criminal bgc, and not the same as XYZ does. I decided not to bother with that after having my initial one done a few years ago with XYZ. I decided to get one through Notary Rotary--only $39 (except for NY, I think).

Interesting. That was not the case on the website LN directed me to when I called.

According to what I read on the website

The file you're sent is a copy of the file that was generated when someone requested a BGC - if a criminal check was ordered, you'll get that; if a credit report was requested, you'll get that. They are not generating a new BGC on you but rather just sending you what they had on you from the last one that was done through them (if I'm wrong please correct me) - a personal BGC will cost $24.95.....From the Website:

"See what information about you is maintained in our files - Order copies of the information that we maintain and use to create consumer reports about you. Also included will be a Public Records Search, which provides information available about you in public records"

and

"Your LexisNexis file will include your personal credit report only if one was ordered by a LexisNexis customer in connection with a background report (for example, if an employer requested your credit report as part of a background check)."
