Mortgage Docs "Auto" signing
Here's what they sent me:
++++++++++++++ The following NEW order is available in your area! Are you available? Let us know by replying to this email ONLY.
((( Order Types and Fees ))) READ what is after the Clients name for this order to know what type of order this is and the fee. Two order types Signings and Field Chases ::
(Signings) = Loan Modification and Auto Loan signing for $30 or Refinance signing for $75 (Field Chases) = Simple field chase/inspection, deliver letter and take 2 photos, for $15
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORDER DETAILS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MD Order Number: Client Name: (Signings) Address: City, State, Zip: Tulsa OK Scheduled Date: 3/9/2011 Scheduled Time: 01:00 PM
NOTE! If there is NO date scheduled above this just needs to be completed ASAP. Which means docs are not date sensitive so you would just need to call the borrowers and schedule a day/time to sign that works for both of you and is ASAP. These types of signings are typically Loan Modifications so they are SMALL and EASY to do. +++++++++
This email came AFTER I had already turned down the phone call for an "Auto Loan signing for $30". (What the heck is an auto loan?) She indicated that it was only a few pages, including the borrower's copy, and that only a couple pages had to be faxed back.
Gee, that's almost too enticing. But the kicker was, the same conversation included a request to do TWO of these auto loans (which upon further questioning turned out to be 2 refis, one with cashout and the other not) at the same place/borrower. And what did she want to pay for both? $30 fee. That was the icing on the cake.

I got one of these the other day too
I don't know about you but I need more information than they provide before I lock into an assignment. As I stated in an earlier thread, under very specific circumstances $75 can work for me...but $30? No no -
I ignored the one I got the other day - they called me on the phone to ask - it was a full refi which would have required minimum 65 miles travel - I quoted my fee - I'm still waiting for her to get back to me on it...

It's a Wells Fargo refinance of an Automobile loan
The requirements are ridiculous including you, the signing agent, verifying the VIN# and the mileage. Then you have to fax back all the pages. They called two times prior to verify I had contacted the borrower and again 10 minutes into the signing. AND they expect the docs to be faxed within 30 minutes. NO EXCEPTIONS per the instructions. I agreed to one a couple miles away for $50 to check it out and it was the last one I'll do.

Nothing wrong with advertising your acceptable fees at all.
If others wish to raise their prices to be more in line with yours, or anyones, that's their decision
"....WELL, .my bad" -- Don't beat yourself up too bad, James.... LOL

There's another company out there that does this....
with no faxbacks, one notarization and it takes all of 10-15 minutes. You verify VIN, answer a yes/no questionnaire on the condition of the vehicle and get signature of borrower on agreement and a few other docs. Signer is basically putting a lien on the vehicle. Pay is $50. Easy, peasy.

Now those sound reasonable.
I had one job that I didn't realize I was going to have to make several visits because the people were basically hiding from debt collectors (which they thought I was). I was told they knew I was coming and no issues.... not true. Since then, I've pretty much stayed away from them.
The type you have described sounds reasonable and easy.

Re: Now those sound reasonable.
I was contacted the same way, I quoted a price and asked for a conformation. i never got one. They contacted me 1.5 hours before appointment{22 hours later} and still didn't confirm anything but wanted me to do the work. I declined. They tried the samething the next day. They made me nervous with the poor comunication, I ignor the emails now.
