Low ball. $30. for the ones I did for them. It was a DOD I D verification for contractors making parts for military equipment. Any individual needing to access the plans and drawings of those parts had to have a security clearence to acess them on the DOD website. Only about 15 pgs. Fax all docs and then shreed the orginals. After you had all the docs needed you gave them a temp code to go on the site to registar for use of the site. Remember this is NNA. They want this to be a model to signing services. Blast e-mail a assignment is in "your area" which seem to be always taken unless it is in a very rural area. Then they want negotiate a low travel fee ($30 per 50 miles RT is over pricing- at $3.50 gas?) For a while, I saw one every now and then, but haven't seen any for a while for the west side of Fort Worth Tx and the counties west.

I studied for, took and passed the NNA's test to be certified as a Trusted Enrollment Agent back in early April of 2008. Then, after receiving only 2 jobs worth $50 each in 3 years, my certification disappeared. When I called the TEA division of the NNA, they told me that they have no record of my ever having taken said test. When I directed them to their own record of the jobs I completed for them, they had no explanation. Yet, by their own admission, they only give TEA assignments to certified TEA's. Apparently, I must test again if I want any more orders. Typical nonsense form the NNA. I did attempt to retake said training. But, their link to their so-called TEA manual that I would need to re-download and re-read to prepare for said test, again, results in an error page. When I called them on it, they told me that they were aware of the problem and were working on it. That was 2 weeks ago and the error still exists. For now, at least, said training is still free. But, even if I re-pursue said certification, how long before said certification disappears, yet again. And, for what; so that I might receive maybe 1 more order within the next 5 years? Notaries must realize that the NNA only represents a very small fraction of a notary's likely sources of referrals. Thus, to depend on them for anything more than education (that they charge for but which should be free; or, at least, at a lower cost than it is) is to waste time and energy that is better invested in marketing your services directly to title companies, signing services and other companies in need of notaries. Me too..passed 3 modules...never a call
Problem with this is the agreement signed at the very beginning before the training made you promise not to independently advertise yourself for TEA services....you were not supposed to contract directly with the client - all assignments were to go through NNA...and I think at the time it was $35 if only one at a location, if more than one $35 for the first, $30 for each one after.

"you were not supposed to contract directly with the client "
Geez! Just when you think it can't get any worse, they hit a new low. This seems to be emblematic of their attempts to dominate any potential markets to whatever extent possible. Yeah, they're really looking out for us, aren't they!
