Re: Nationwide Signings in AZ NEVER MIND!

I found a couple of ugly posts about their method of payment and I've turned the assignment back to Charlie.

THANK YOU TEAM!

Re: Nationwide Signings in AZ NEVER MIND!

I decided not to take the risk. I've never worked for this company, and even if I'm not busy, I choose not to chase my $$ around. Especially, the guy is in AZ and I can't be frustrated by this business practice of not being paid in a timely manner and having check bounce all over the place.

Re: Nationwide Signings in AZ My experience

I accepted a job from him. He tried to negotiate my fee down from $100 to $80 with the promise that he had the docs right there and it was only 25 pages and 2 signers.

I said okay. The package comes in at 36 pages and SIX signers. I emailed and asked which of the 25 pages he wanted me to print? He upped my fee to 100.
He continued to maintain there were only 2 signers. There were six....the 3 siblings, and their 3 spouses. It took a full hour to do the 36-page package.

It took me 52 days to get paid and then, his check bounced. They promised to send a cashier's check; they did send a check but it was not a cashier's check. I just deposited it two days ago so I do not know if this one will bounce or not.

Re: Nationwide Signings in AZ My experience

I received a check from them 2 weeks ago for a signing that I did 90+ days ago. It was returned by my bank as NSF + I was charged a return check fee by my bank. They said they would replace the check + the bank fee but as of today that check has not been replaced. I will post if it gets replaced and clears. I'm not holding my breath!

I tried to add them to SS also but was unable to. There is a Nationwide Document Service listed but it has a different address, email address and phone number.

Guess that biz doesn't pay that well if Charlie can't even pay the notaries he hires. Aren't you sick to death of the ss co's out there who get paid and stiff the notary who does all the hard work. This guy does not tell the truth. He wanted me to go yesterday, but the client had classes. He maintained she didn't have class til 12:45p, she maintained she told him she did. He was just happy to get a live notary and thought he'd get this done before I could be on to him. Then, I had time to get on to him and was shocked he had the nerve to call me the mother of all CSAs, and try to bamboozle me.

Sorry, Charlie, too smart for you! and why isn't he listed in SC? Let's get him a front row seat!

nationwidesignings.com is no longer an active website. Says something more about this signing service who is duping notaries into working gratis to line their pockets.

WHAT'S even worst is...Some of these peer

SS who monitor this site's notaries comments and probably already know about this company won't even step up to the plate and help out. In fact, there is always no comments made about a non-paying SS by other SS (AKA notaries who own SS). Go figure.

yES...I think they should be charged with a crime for using a person commissioned by the state and not pay them. Why do we have a bond to protect the public and they not have a bond to protect the notary? I don't get it.

HA! This guy is way over his head. He needs not to be in this biz...He's so under cover and not forthright. For this reason alone, he should seek another line of work, say politics?

Re: WHAT'S even worst is...Some of these peer/ I don't

understand? James are you suggesting that if a Signing Service reads a post (good or bad) about one of their competitors, that they should also post (good or bad) about them? It is my belief that one should only post actual, truthful experiences. Hearsay and rumors should not apply. Believe me any Signing Service that actually pays their notaries can NOT compete with one that does not. They hate them more that we do, but what can they say? A SS would rarely work for another SS, but if they did and were not paid I’m sure they would post it everywhere.

Re: WHAT'S even worst is...Some of these peer/ I don't

Les, what I am implying is they aren't as estranged from each other as we are. They know each other and how they operate to some extent. More so than we know our competitors in our respective areas.

Re: WHAT'S even worst is...Some of these peer/ I don't

I disagree James. I actually do know someone that runs a SS, and she doesn’t have a clue about some others in her business. She does know some like Sylvia (I mention Sylvia because she is no longer in the SS business.) and some of the other older ‘good guys’ but we have had at least 3 fly-by-night SS and 2 Title Companies that have started here in the Denver area in the last few years that she knows nothing about. I know more than her, because I worked for some. Some started with good intentions, others thieves to start with, all gone now (I think?) Even if she had ‘heard about’ or knew of problems, without actual experience how could she comment? No James these SS do not get together. Maybe some of the crooked ones do and share sucker lists, for all I know some could be running a SS from jail? But I think it would be inappropriate for some SS to come on here and degrade their competition without actual experience, and proof. JMO

Re: WHAT'S even worst is...Some of these peer/ I don't

I would agree there are exceptions but I would find it hard to believe that people in the same line of business, in the same competitive area don't know who's good and who's bad.

For example, (I know you are waaaay more knowledgeable about this then me and I may be wrong) when a SS is doing a presentation for a prospective client, they are not going to offer the same service as a competitor. It's got to be something the other doesn't do. Something that will convince the client to hire them and not the other. IMO

Re: WHAT'S even worst is...Some of these peer/ I don't

James my friend, the person that I know that has a SS doesn’t have time to take a pi….(to go to the ladies room) let alone worry about people that don’t count. I personally have heard the Nations Direct sales pitch (years ago) and it was good and convincing. I ask my friend why do you pay a notary $100 for a job that they will take from Nations Direct for $50? They have no loyalty. She says: “My reputation is on the line, I need the best, ND has taken several of my customers…but I won’t ask someone to work at a loss." That’s called integrity in my book…JMO!
