Need help with printer & trays
I just purchased a HP LaserJet P2055dn - I bought the additional tray. Salesman said that I could print legal and copy sized - that it would automatically pick tray 2 for copy and tray 3 for legal (tray 1 is the manual feed tray).
Ok, it doesn't. I've gone all through printer properties. I'm lost. I've searched the internet to no avail.
Can you tell me how to set this up?
or
Can you tell me what search terms I should use?
Thanks so much in advance!!

Windows XP here..
Start....control panel....printers...highlight your printer...
Left side "Set Printer Properties" choose "Advanced"- install the trays and select paper size.
Back to General - Printing Preferences - Paper/Quality - make sure it's on Auto-Select.
Good Luck.

Re: When all else fails you could
You can call HP and they will set it up for you. They fixed me up like a charm. They had to go in and manuel put in the driver code in Windows. I love it that HP for the reason they have real tec people who know their printers inside and out.

I had a HP2015dn and now have a HP2035dn and didn't have to do anything after using the installation disc. I would delete your old printer (if you don't have it anymore) and re-install it (your new one). Second, I would go back to the store and asked why he suggested I purchase a third tray, since it's not necessary?

I believe you have to also go to your control panel, select your printer, select properties, select device settings which will bring up a window that showing tray 1, 2 and 3.
You can select which tray you want for each paper size. Make sure on your printer that you select the same settings.
Hope this helps.
