Possible Scam Warning

I just rec'vd a phone call from an unavailalbe number. The caller from the Cayman Islands asked if I would be interested in serving his soon to be ex-wife divorce papers. I asked him where she is locAted and I gave him my fee. He said ok and would draft an HSBC payment to me and will provide me his FedEx acct# to send documents back to him. I started getting that "wait a minuet" feeling and starting asking questions. I looked up the area code of 345 and it came up as an area with phone scams. He said his lawyer who is also located in the Cayman Islands, Phillip E. Banks, would draft me the paper work and send it to me. RED LIGHTS went off and I hung up....Don't know if he is legit but I'm not going to chance it. BECARFUL!!!!

Don't blame you for having that "wait a minute" feeling. I would not want anything to do with this either. Even if it was legit, I'm not interested in serving divorce papers to anyone!

Looked for a video but unable to get the normal link on any of them. As soon as I read the name I thought of his character. It might be in re-runs in the islands. LOL

you were probably right to refuse....

I'm surprised he didn't go on to say that his lawyer would be paying you. And if the lawyer did, you'd probably receive a check for a little more than what you asked for.

Then when you call to advise him of the overpayment, he'd ask you to deposit the check into your account, then w/draw the 'extra' money, and wire it to his account. The check given to the depositor is always a fake or stolen check.

This is one of the LARGEST scams out there now, and they're aiming seniors!
