Response from XXX
In response to my query re how to update my renewed E&O insurance: "I am sorry to inform you that we cannot add insurance information if purchased through a different company." I purchased my E&O from Notary Rotary, & from the same insurance company! Sadly, my membership in XXX is paid for a couple more years. I now have no intention of renewing it.

Exactly - It appears to be punitive: If you don't buy it from them, you cannot list it on their site.

Do they get a referral fee? Is it more expensive thru XXX?
In other words kick backs or antitrust?

I don't know. But it is distressing that while they refuse to show that I have a current E&O policy, they do show that my E&O policy with them has expired, giving the impression that I do not have a current policy.

Just another good reason to say goodbye to them and put that money to better use.

Absolutely - I joined more than a decade ago, when I first started doing this in California, and have just renewed without giving it much thought. I'll not be renewing again. I have found Notary Rotary to be invaluable.

It's exactly this kind of manipulation that soured me about them a long time ago.

All insurance agents get a % of the fee charged.

Outrageous. I can't believe no one has hit them with a
class-action suit for some of the things they try to get away with. I personally have nothing to do with XYZ anymore.
