TRG - is it worth it?

I received an email from TRG saying that to remain in their database it would cost me $85.00. The reviews on SC are mixed. I have never heard from them in 5 years. I think that I just answered my own question!

Pls explain....are they asking for you to pay $85.00 or work for them for $85.00? I do a lot of work for them and have received no such email is why I'm asking. I wouldn't pay anybody $85.00

Re: TRG - their email to me

You are being contacted because you are currently in my database as an approved notary for the state of Washington. We are looking to expand our business and keep notaries to be used on a more frequent basis for our local and national companies. The fee we will be offering for this service is $85.00. Please respond back if you wish to remain a notary in our database. My contact information is below or please e-mail me.

Re: TRG - their email to me

Its sounds more like they are cutting their fees just like everyone else is. Why dont you email back to ask and see what their response is.

Yea, sounds like they're reducing their fees, I guess they feel gas didn't go up in Wash.

Re: TRG - their email to me

Closing one for them tomorrow. BOs have the docs so no printing, at least on this one. Only did 2 prior closings for them, which I printed, and those were 76 and 104 pages. Had no issues with them in the past. This will be the first for them this year.

Dear Signing Service:

This year, since so many signing services are having a rough go of it, I will be collecting a $50 fee for you to remain in my client database. I require a security deposit just in case you go belly up. It will be refunded after your first 10 timely payments. However, if you miss a payment, you will forfeit your security deposit. Deal?

Thanks, Notary Nan

I have done 18 for them so far this year Check the letter to the borrower that they enclose. It says the fee for the notary will be $125 to $150.....so if you're not getting it who is? I'd ask

$85, overnight docs... 2 miles RT max.... sure.
Edocs and travel will cost a bit more....say, like $125 to $150, eh?

I did several signings or TRG late last year with them meeting my $XXX with no problem (via 2 or 3 coordinators). Then, early January, I get call from another coordinator only willing to pay $XX. I countered with my fee. She stated TRG ONLY pays what she offers and I explained that her counterparts had agreed and paid my fee with no problem. This was all done via email and everyone was copied in.

She finalized the issue by saying she would remove my name from their database. Haven't heard from them again.

I never take anything but $1**from them, and they pay within 30, usually w/in 2 weeks. I like them. Never a problem.

same as Tish & James....

The only problems I have with them is their web based pick up of docs. Are others here able to get the docs successfully from their website? Or do they have to email to you? Some at TRG are sympathetic, others act like I'm the only one with the problem.

Re: same as Tish & James....

I had the same problem with receiving docs through their website. I asked them to email them in a PDF format. They wouldn't do it, until they couldn't find anyone to do the closing (EOM). They were rude, and uncooperative. Do I want to work for them again? Nahhhhhhhh

Re: same as Tish & James....

I've only worked for TRG a few times, but I have been able to get the docs off their website every time. At first I was not clicking on the right thing - when you click on "View Order Documents" another box will pop up, and then you have to click on the Adobe symbol which is located at the far right under the "Actions" header.

Yeah, Copper, I do all that, only to have blank screen

for 20 mins or so. Enough to know that they are not just slow in loading. Then someone on their end will get on, see that the file is corrupted or whatever, and finally they will send them to me via email. Most aggravating! Very time consuming, and minutes on phone dwindle.

Re: Yeah, Copper, I do all that, only to have blank screen

I have found TRG to be a great company to work for but yes, downloading docs from their site is a pain and except for two times, I've had to ask that they send them pdf. Frustrating to say the least especially when you're in a hurry to get going.

'Frustrating to say the least especially when you're in a hurry to get going.'

One of them told me that they don't want the docs released until 2 hrs. prior to closing. But, if I have more than one appt, I may need them more timely.

Re: Yeah, Copper, I do all that, only to have blank screen

I get that all the time, it depends on who the closer is, and also where they're located, N J or Ca. At the two hour mark, I give the signing back......as far as PDF tell them you're on the road and you are accessing via a remote computer and not printing them from home via the web GUI. They will send you the Docs if they want it done.

TRG...BO told me it was canceled...never heard from TRG

Had one set for 6:00 today. Hadn't been able to get hold of the BO with repeated calls this week, although spoke to their daughter a couple of days ago. Informed them I couldn't get hold of them and was told to go anyway. BOs were supposed to have the docs. Tried again at 5:30 today and got an answer. BO told me Citi called him and it's no go and canceled. I informed TRG and they acted like they didn't know. That's not a good way for things to go down in my book.

Same here with new lowballing

They called me during a snowstorm, which meant their cheapie notary canceled. They agreed to my regular fee XXX, then used me a few more times. Didn't hear from them for a month or so, then they called and introduced themselves and offered $75.00. I said NO, I get XXX and she said "we don't pay that much". I said "really,I closed blah, blah and blah for you and you met my fee". She realized who I was and that was what they paid me and said "oh, I see, this is your company name I just found online. I didn't realize you were the same person" Duh. So she met my fee once I caught her trying to lower it by HALF. HALF I SAID. Yes, you get a black screen when you try to download their docs and it's impossible to close out a file. Bad online system.

Re: Same here with new lowballing

I just got that same line about what they wanted to pay....we never pay that much. I read off the chek number, date of check which had just arrived, amount of check and loan ID #. got a tiny "oh", then my fee.

Now just have to see if docs really do go to BO this time, and then fight for extra money when I have to download docs. The will have to fight for docs to be emailed. It is becoming prolematic that they cannot get their S... together.

Re: Same here with new lowballing

Lower and lower fees, further travel. After not hearing from them for a few months, I became "inactive". Often have problems open the docs. Becoming a major pain to work with.
