Virginia Mobile signing agent role

The question I have as a signing agent only do I require to have CRESPA cirtification and insurance to place cashiers checks in the package at closing.

On the HUD statement line 303 defines monies at closing. I am unclear if monies are required from the borrower, such as a cirtified or cashiers check if I am able to place that check in my FedEx/UPS return package.

CRESPA requires 16hr course and $250k insurance plus bondage. Seems a lot just to put a check in a package?

No, you don't. It doesn't matter if a check is in the package or not. You are just the courier. You are acting in the place of borrower. Instead of B dropping the package, you are. Hope this helps.

Have you searched the subject by typing CRESPA in the orange search link? This has been discussed by VA. and MD notaries. I think I've read that some give the borrower a separate Fedex or UPS envelope to send the check to title, or have the borrower make arrangements to wire the money to title. Hopefully, some VA or MD notaries will comment on this.
