AZ Docs & Commission Expiration Dates

The AZ notary instructor told me that the commission expiration date requirement was needed when AZ used the embossers. Rubber stamps have been required since 2000. Then the requirement was superfluous since the rubber stamp has the commission expiration date.
Lack of a handwritten expiration date these days will neither invalidate the docs nor will it cause a notary to be reprimanded, fined, suspended, etc.

This year we AZ notaries can expect more changes in July 2011.

My post above is a response to the assertion the other day

that AZ notaries made grievous errors if they did not include their commission expiration dates on documents with notarized signatures. That is absolutely untrue according to the SOS notary div.
