From what I understand, he was killed last week...it took this long to identify him thru DNA.

He was actually killed 1 week ago. They had to check his DNA and also something strange about his ears. They only announced last night

CorpJen, He was killed yesterday, not last week
The "killed last week" rumors were what reporters and news stations were reporting prior to Obama's announcement. That's the problem with the 24hr news cycle. They are all trying to be the "first" and they run with information before they have actually confirmed it.
They were incorrect and not one of the ones I saw incorrectly reporting that he killed last week actually corrected themselves after his announcement.
I believe the green light for the operation was given last week. That may have been were the misinformation may have began. If this is where they got the "last week" info from it just shows that journalism standards have fallen greatly as a result of the 24 hr news cycle. Rather than ensure they have the story correct, they are more worried about being the first to "report".
