Comments removed in SC

Anybody else out there have their comments about a particular SS removed from SC?

Is it all of them or just on one particular SS?

Just one particular..I think you know who I'm talking about. I posted the same comment on another site, it's still there. I guess it must have been hurting them in some way, they should have never let me find this out...

I'm not quite following. We do not delete nor alter SC comments, if that's what you're suggesting. That's against our policy and I just checked with Traci and Grif to ensure they're following policy. No comments have been removed.

I copied and pasted the same comment on another forum...it's there, it isn't here....if you can, check for comments 09/12/2009 for one.

There's four....one referencing them suing me in court and me winning the case, another in which I referenced his first and last name a made a comment ; another in which I said they got paid for work I did but they didn't pay me and one in which I mentioned it has been a year now and that I still have not been paid. All in 2009 and 2010....That I know for sure.

James, could you have accidentally "cut" (deleted) instead of copied then updated your remarks?

I'm not sure if this would do it but I do know that when I update my remarks on a company, my previous ones are removed and replaced by the most current comment.

you're on to something. My error Harry

I just tried it and it eliminated the previous post.....I guess you can only say something bad about a SS one time. Bummer!

No James, you can go back and edit your comments again

if it is that important to you.

Where no ratings effect takes place is in the forum messages. Once there, unless by act of Harry, Grif or Tracy, there it stays. That is why linking is so important.

The linking of the company to the posts about the company ties in with the SC ratings, albeit indirectly as you must search both ways. But those threads are critical as some people don't appear to understand that "pays well and fast" giving 4 stars really is 2 stars to many when one takes into consideration that $90 is not pays well and 90 days is not fast. I have seen postings in SC that I know are bogus by my standards. I only know that someone from CA thinks this, but when I do a message search and find that Candy from CA thinks $90 is really great and 90 days is ok and she is wishing for 60 days - well - you can see what I mean. I know you have seen posts like that as well.

So, if you can't stand Jan Mondragon, a notary posing as a signing service, who refuses to pay you, then you have to rely on the messages to get your post viewed and considered. She won't be in SC because she is a notary with a notary listing. Then she gives a company names, All Service Notary & Signings, to further confuse and hide in the bushes the real facts of her existence.

See - you have to hit these companies from all directions with your praise or criticisms.

Just like everything else, you must decide for yourself!

I do like your explanation of why this and why not that...part of being experienced/knowledgeable about being a NSA. Thanks to you and MoneyMan for the enlightenment.

Your welcome, but it is experience with how NR works.

When new people come on here, they need to learn their way around. I see them asking about abbreviations, alphabet soup initials (senior moment: can't remember the term) and so on. then someone will tell them to check SC and be sure to rate and link and then we don't see them for a week or so. You just know they are off scratching their heads, shaking and muttering, "Now wha.....?"

BTW - everyone got my dig at Ms. Jan? BEWARE!

What MM says is true - you edit your comment

your old comment goes away.

Think of it this way: editing is updating. Sometimes companies perform well and then slide downhill - the 2nd comment is now only comment and removes that 4 star rating of old. I have suggested in the past that people update their remarks as it will give a truer picture of that company.

Conversely, for example, if NREIS gets their act together and on an even keel, people who work for them should go back and remove a negative post they may have once made to give more accurate representation of today's environment with them.

It is a wonderful way to get the ratings in line with current activities. So please, if you have given 4 stars in the past and the company is sliding downhill, change your old comments to reflect today's reality.

GREAT ADVICE - you edit your comment

even if the company hasn't changed!

I update every time I receive a check.

I use it as part of my file closeout procedure. I also update if they are 15+ days late (1 star), then update once the check is received. That way if the company is starting to have trouble, hopefully the updates will help others to see a possible trend before it is too late.
