Going out blind...ugh
Going to an appointment (AND having to bring a witness) for signing a release of parental rights - cannot get in touch with client - apparently they won't answer their phone due to "confidentiality" (pfftt)...
I've got an agreement for payment if a no-show/no-sign, but have a really bad feeling about this - on the bright side, it IS on my way to a refi signing..sooo...
I hate going out blind.

Bring your own witness?
Why do you "have to bring" your own witness?

Re: Bring your own witness?
Signer was able to provide one witness - did not have a second witness available and, per agency policy, I wasn't allowed to be a witness...
So my husband went along - and they paid a fee for him to go.

OOOH Cool! I didn't know they did that. We can sign as witnesses here so I don't know that I would ever face that as an issue...well, unless I closed on a FL property here in NJ?????

Wasn't related to property, Cheryl...
was a general notary matter (adoption-related)...here in FL, normally the notary CAN be a witness - in this matter it required two witnesses, notary could not be one.

AAAAAh, thanks for sharing that Linda. I like to learn all I can...about all the states laws and procedures even if they don't apply to ours.
