Had a fun signing...

Last minute signing at a motorcycle dealership while his bike was being serviced. We both chuckled at silly things such as... "Please print a blank set of documents for the borrower..."

I know what they are asking, but technically, how do you print a BLANK set of documents?
I think they should change their wording to "unsigned" rather than blank.

So true.....I remember getting a whole set of documents from a very reputable lender and every "Notary Public" insertion was typed "Notary Republic"....I called and they sent a new file.....we all had a laugh over that one.

Notary Republic...

Yesterday I did a closing for bo's in an upscale, very affluent area of Northern NJ.

The bo had problems with the numbers on the HUD so after speaking with the title company, he was instructed to contact his LO. for clarification. He had to leave a couple of messages for different people (as we all know) and every time he was explaining that we were "at the table", he would say..."I'm at the table with the Notary RE-Public."

What was really funny is that it turns out this guy used to be a banker. Hmmmmm

More times than not, I have people tell me they need a Notary RE-Public...lol

I have seen notaries write "Notary Republic" underneath

their signature - like they can't see how it is spelled on their seal?

It is amazing how unprofessional and clueless so many notaries are.

Re: I have seen notaries write "Notary Republic" underneath

It is amazing how many are unprofessional and how many really do not know the scope of the office and duties and what a vital role we play in transactions. When asked to notarize a car title and I refused because of suspicions the woman said to me "well you are just a notary, why can't you just put your stamp on it"....needless to say, I educated her on the value of a notary and the liability we face....people just do not know.
