How to handle...

Yesterday I had a call for a signing from XXX. They had it scheduled for 5:00, and would let me know for sure if it was a go. I received another call from YYY for a signing in the same town. I told them I could do it but it would have to be at 6:00. YYY said no problem, just let borrower know. I called borrower and they said no problem. XXX called back to confirm, etc...I asked them the borrowers name and low and behold it was the same people that YYY had scheduled me for. Since I had all ready accepted YYY (YYY was paying more money) I told XXX that this was scheduled all ready with another company. XXX wanted to know what company I had all ready scheduled for.

How should I handle that request? When this happens to other notaries, do you give out the company information?

No, I don't think I'd tell them the name of the company. However, I had the same situation once and it turned out that it was 2 different loans/lenders/TCs, but same Bo.

Something similiar happened to me a couple of months ago..Got the call from TC they told me that it might be 2 loans..Ok met my fee. When docs arrived it was 1 loan. Called TC to verify it was just 1 loan. I get to the BOs and as I am pulling in another car shows up..Its another Notary with another loan! Different TC..The bo wanted to sign both of them at the same time..I said no..I offered the other notary to go first and she declined..Ok I was in and out!

same thing happened to me only it was two loans, one borrower....I get there, there's another notary who says to me, "...they told me you would be bring MY Docs!" Same TC, Two different LO. One LO officer asked the other one if they could use me as a "courier" for their loan Docs and I like a fool thought I was getting two signings. Long story made short, I asked the second notary if they wanted to buy the 2nd set of Docs I printed, they declined.

And...I'm really curious

"....I get there, there's another notary who says to me, "...they told me you would be bring MY Docs!""

Did the other notary show up with no docs waiting for you to deliver??

you guys are funny.....I asked the other notary to step outside so we could talk. I found out "she" was at another signing and couldn't print out the Docs so her and the other LO colluded to have me print them out and bring them to her.

THEY did not want me to do the second signing. I had her get THAT LO of the phone and asked if he would pay me for printing out the Docs, he said no, " it was done as a favor (he said) from my LO"...... who knew nothing about it. In making a SHORT story lengthy I looked at the rate lock date on the Docs in question, explained what the issue was to the borrowers and told the notary to go home and print out her own damn Docs. I then completed my signing. As far as the LO, I called him everything except a child of God!

You're welcome Linda. I really didn't want to get into all those details as I was not the OP

We don't care about the hijack as much as the rest of the story. Those other people were certainly obnoxious, and....and...(I will remain polite).

Same here. Both were cancelled several times by the borrower. never did close it. Found out that another notary had been to the house with loan doc's well before I got involved. It may be the borrower is planning to compare loans at the table.

The other notary should pay both a print and courier fee. It needs to come from that Notary out of thier fee. Why should that notary profit on your back?
