Re: NCS is great company plus my closing philosophy
Thanks to all for your info. I haven't worked for them but I'm making a list of companies to contact again as my notary commission is expiring and I want to send an updated profile when my renewal comes through.
As a side note, I talked to my former "biggest competitor" this week, who initially was a full time closer, as I received a request for general notary work that was close by to where she lives, and gave her a call to see if she wanted to handle it. She said she's now out of the business because of low volume, low fees, and high gas prices and she was able to find a full time job. I'm going to stay with it just because I'm stubborn, and I have a part time job to fill the gap. Because I'm stubborn, I'm not lowering my fees either. Closing loans is a very demanding job requiring a lot of energy, organizational skills, people skills and technical skills. It's worth as much as a paralegal's pay per hour, plus the pricing per job must also cover overhead. That's how I calculate my fee per job and usually come up a little short because most jobs take more time than anticipated...however every once in a while there's a slam dunk that makes me smile all the way to the bank.
