Priority Notary - BAD COMPANY - SAY NO!!!!!!!!
Eric has not responded to my emails and phone calls about non-payment. I did a signing for him April 6, 2011; then docs had to be re-drawn on April 22. Its been almost 2 months from the first signing appointment. I've trying to contact him for the last 3 weeks. I've finally sent an email informing him I will contact everyone who was involved with the loan: the borrowers, escrow company, title, the lender, and broker. I intend to contact the companies listed on his website testifying to his service. Which isn't really isn't his service - we do all the work and make him look good. On the HUD he was making $200 and paying me $100. The least he can do is pay me for my exceptional service. I had to go above and beyond for this loan. He wasn't very helpful and told me I needed to speak with escrow and the LO to find out what was going on with the 2nd signing - come to find out the borrower wasn't even in the state.

interesting- my experience was less than stellar. I posted here and everyone said what a great guy he was. One notary even offered to pay me herself if I did not get paid. Well I did get paid. It took him 55 days to pay me $50.00. The loan did not fund ( I did check with the LO)- and his confirmation says he pays 50.00 for a no fund. I have no beef with the amount paid since it was in writing. But I thought the time frame was a little excessive?

I don't know anything about this company but:
"On the HUD he was making $200 and paying me $100."
What difference does it make what he was getting paid if you had agreed to $100.
I hope you are being paid for both signings (April 6th and April 22)

I find it funny that more often than not the "post" is XXXXXXX G/B/U. Then members respond plus SC says 4 stars.......so what do you think the problem is? Seems like that statement you made "I did a signing for him April 6, 2011; then docs had to be re-drawn on April 22" would have a lot to do with it. For example, were the Docs redrawn because of an error you made??? That would be reason for non-payment.
Definitely not attacking you, just saying a little more insider information would help to aid you. My .02

It's just over 30 days since the re-drawn docs were signed. Continue to try contacting him. You might try sending a collection letter and your invoice by certified mail to his mailing address as well as faxing the collection letter and invoice to his office. And, if you haven't given him your W-9, send that with your collection letter. I would suggest you not start contacting all those companies and people until you've exhausted all your collection efforts over the next 15 to 30 days. And, you never contact the borrower! They paid for your service through the closing costs to the title company.

I just noticed your last sentence - "come to find out the borrower wasn't even in the state". What does that mean? Did you complete the last signing?

Well - the re-draw was not because of something I did...... And I got a response to my emails and phone calls yesterday. It's unfortunate it came to this. As for the 2nd signing - I did not end up signing the loan because the borrower was in California - title, escrow, and loan officer was not aware of this. They expected me to call the borrower all day - it was the last day for the rate lock.
I don't have in issue with him making a $100. I have an issue of not being paid when and what I am suppose to when I know what's being made.
Anyway I spoke with Eric this early this morning. He explained he is working with Wells Fargo and he's grown his business. It was a decent conversation. He seemed genuine.... The check is in the mail. When I receive it I will let everyone know.

In my experience, Eric has always been a pretty straightforward, transparent and conscientious guy. Most of the time, I have no trouble reaching him - or least I can count on a call back - but lots of our communication is also via text. However, on any given day, any person can make a mistake or let something slip between the cracks, so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
"They expected me to call the borrower all day."
That sounds like it would likely be coming from the LO, eager to get his/her deal closed. Staying on top of a signing situation goes with the territory, but I've always found Eric to be very supportive when it comes to dealing with pushy LOs.
I'm glad you got it worked out and I'd be very surprised if you didn't get your check promptly.
