Seriously, how is SOX, Sign On The X, still in business? They called and left me a message today requesting my services.

Do I need to say I did not, have not, and most certainly will not call them back.

I hope no one out there gets reeled in...but unfortunately there is some poor schmuck out there that will be none the wiser.

I always call deadbeats back and tell them why I can not take their signing, so they know. So they know we all track their paying habits. It's always amusing to hear the replies, the promises to pay etc. After they try for a while, I double the my normal fee and say I need half up front via paypal as a good faith gesture. Never had a bite yet but worth a try. I only talk with them when I have the time otherwise I don't waste my time.

That's a good idea. I usually take it then look the company up. If I have to decline will tell they why.

Can't imagine anyone working for them. Many years ago had my fight for payment, never again. They haven't called in a long time. Didn't think they were even in business anymore. BEWARE!!

They called me a couple of days ago, and I got all excited and called them right back.

Then I looked at the Caller ID again, and found out it was SOX, not SEX. Still tried to chat up the gal who answered the phone, but got nowhere. Helluva note when SOX hangs up on you.

Geez, they have to be the gutter of signing companies! Got so screwed up with a payment, then took nearly 4 months to get my final payment and then screw up my 1099! Their accounting dept. needed an overhaul years ago.

Look at it this way, it you keep them on the phone as long as possible talking, pleading and promising, maybe another company that is also trying to get that order filled will fill it first knocking the deadbeat company out of the assignment and disappointing another unsuspecting NSA.
