VERY SLOW DOWNLOADING

Had 3 jobs from the same SS last night. They all took about 50 min to downloand @100 docs. Never had this problem before. Can it be on my end, or more likely on the SS end?

Sometimes one can get around that a couple of different ways. This file may have been scanned as an image, in which case you would open your printer commands as ask that it print as image. Breaking the file into sections is sometimes helpful.

Some suggestions that might help

1) Try to clean out your system clutter (internet clutter will slow downloads to a crawl). I use System Mechanics (paid version but you can download a trial version for free and I think it will allow you to run the system clutter clean up program on the trial version -- one button to clean)

2) Clean out your system Registry (Registry Mechanics is a free program if you don't have one already) I also use Advanced SystemCare (another free program) Can download both from Download.com (CNet.com same site)

3) You might also want to defrag your computer as well. This should also help with the speed of your computer overall. if it has been a while it WILL take a long time to complete. I would run the defrag at least a few times (takes less time each time).

4) Check your virus protection program for updates and run the program to make sure your computer does not have any malware or spyware that could be slowing it down.

** Also don't forget to reboot your computer after you clean it. If you have time, I usually re-run most of these programs after I restart and that usually catches/cleans out a few more items. Also the programs will run faster after your first cleaning and a restart.

If I leave my internet connection open for long periods of time I have to clean it out.

Hope this helps. Good luck! Smile

I've been having some problems, too, for the first time ever. I ran c-cleaner, had my computer checked out & everything is ok. My computer guy said it may have something to do with my email program (I use an att email address, now part of yahoo). I think there is something going on without that program, myself. All of a sudden everything has slowed down.

My husband and I spent hrs. doing all of the things Moneyman suggested--which I know my computer needed anyway. I went back and downloaded a few pages from the same SS, and sure enough, the same EXTREMELY SLOW (50 min. for 100 pages!!). Then I went and downloaded some older files (as this had never happened before that night), they were all fine! So I wrote the SS and asked them if anyone else had this problem. I still think somehow it was on their end.
Does anyone know if this could be possible on their end? Feel good about getting my computer back in shape, tho' so thanks again, Moneyman!
