Well now, that was fun

Had a signing at 7:00 - Quicken loan that was sent to them yesterday - I've never done a Quicken loan before so I took my package, was looking through my instructions and said "Okay, Mr. and Mrs. Jones, you've looked everything over...." and Mrs. pipes up and says "No, I haven't!!" - gives the husband a look at says "What did you do??" He says "They've been sitting here since yesterday" and she repeats "What did you do??!!"....I offered to go sit in the car while they discussed it but she declined and continued on with the signing...

Apparently he didn't bother to inform her they were refinancing....yay...Smile

Makes one wonder, doesn't it, what else he hasn't told her.

Bet you could have cut the air with a dull knife.

You deserve a drink, on the house.

What kills me is she was on the loan!!

How did she not know without signing the initial application, disclosures, etc...

At least she appeared to me to be in her right mind tonight...LOL

They don't happen to have a long-time housekeeper who recently quit, do they?

If they are like my parents

If they are like my parents then the documents could have been set on fire before my father would notice them.

I just love how she kept her cool and stared him down.

and now we know why...LOL

My wife always says, "you handle it, you take care of it" when it comes to leaks, repairs, new appliances and of course the mortgage. It's her house when she's on the phone telling people thank you for how great it looks.

She probably wanted to wring his neck, but having you there helped those feelings to slowly dissipate. I bet you could have cracked an egg on her head and it would fry immediately!

LOL..yeah...the only time she spoke...

I said part-way through "any questions?" - he shook his head no - she says "No, but then I don't have a say I guess".... I grinned at her, she smiled, he shrugged, we continued...

woopsie..Smile

I'll bet she feels just a little like Maria Shriver!

Msg #383979

Woah...not sure that that's even CLOSE...

I dare not even consider it close to what Maria Shriver is feeling, but she's probably feeling a bit betrayed, cynical, suspicious, PI**ED for sure. Just MHO

I dunno, Diva, it's so possible that this may be the ~last~

straw for this gal. A *bit* betrayed and suspicious? Understatements, yes?

So, I can see the link - Ah Nold kept the secret(s) for a decade - odds are more stuff is going to come out after the fact. Here, I can see a likely pattern of women who defend their men's proclivities, only to be found foolish, betrayed, and bloody broken. Whether in the national eye or the neighborhood household.

To me, as a fellow-woman who's traveled so many roads and waters for almost 64 years, my support is for the Women, the keepers of the hearth. (So much learned from many 'silent' conversations with Mrs/Ms Borrower/friends/family/coworkers/ over the years.)

Ok. Did the World As We Know It End? I can't tell.

Can't think of a better GalPal. I'm in her court...besides,

play 'em like you got 'em, as they say.

Meanwhile, Ah Nold has put Hollywood on hold - as well he should.

Just to clarify...

"but she's probably feeling a bit betrayed, cynical, suspicious, PI**ED for sure". I was talking about the b/o (wife), NOT Maria Shriver. I would venture to say that Maria Shriver is feeling a hellova lot more than a BIT betrayed, cynical, suspicious, etc. etc. etc...

I don't care how "strong" a person is, a complete devastation of life as you know it, is a far fetch from having your husband take out a loan and you only finding out when it's time to sign the doc's.

I had that happen to me once - it was not pretty! The wife

screamed @ Mr. & said "how do I know I'm not signing for you to KILL me???" It would have been funnier if I wasn't wasting my time! Mr said he was embarrassed & I had to verbally stepp in & offer to adjourn the closing until another day when they were on the same page.
She agreed to sign, but believe me - I wasn't pressing the issue. She probalby gave him a couple of black eyes after I left!
