XP Notary Closings

Hi,

Is XP Notary Closings the same as XP Mobile Notary Services? I got an email from them today to do a Foreclosure Defense Contract this weekend about 30 minutes from my home. They said it's only 17 pages with 2 stamps. What is a reasonable fee? The email said they normally pay $50, but that is way too low. They want me to factor in my fee the cost of printing, faxing or emailing, and mailing back standard mail. Thanks for any advice.

$50 is the min I leave my office for.
Based on 1 hour of my time, travel and the signing and 1/2 hour to print and get completed docs checked and dropped. If the package has fax backs the $10 for the 1st 10pags/$25 for up to 35 pags.
PS my time is billed at $30/hr with one hour min. Again if I leave my office the min is $50 the $30/hr in 1/2hr segments there after.

how's hourly billing been working out for you?

Me personally, just don't see a point to hourly billing in this business. I charge a minimum for walking out this door, then the extras that come with it, like printing, faxing, mileage, etc.

If there are any 'extra' issues that come up, and they usually do, I'm usually given what I ask to compensate.

Just curious, does anyone else do hourly billing, and more importantly, do these companies honor it?

Regarding the fee you quoted, given the distance and two notarizations, I would agree $50 is too low. I would treat it the same as loan and quote at least $75.
