anyone use a multisheet duplex scanner?
I would like to drop my 2 home phone lines and save about $100 a month and just have DSL. I have seen a HP ScanJet 5590 that feeds like a fax machine rather than lay 1 page at a time on the scanner. I currently have an old HP 3030 that is a 3 in 1, that I use for faxing and making copies for non business jobs, but I don't think that you can feed the docs in the fax slot and scan. It is hard enough just to fax large packages (which seems to be rare these days). Just the thought of individually putting one page at a time on the scanner makes my hair stand on end. These whole package fax backs seem rare, but I want to be prepared even for 10 or 20 pages. Any suggestions out here? $100 will buy 2 tanks of gas!

I do
It's an HP Officejet Pro 8500, holds about 50 pages in the feeder. (I don't use this to print docs, just an fyi). I scan to file on the computer, then send e-mail from there. I believe I could send direct from the scanner to e-mail, but ...that's pushing my brain cells farther than I think is safe. =)

I have been using a HP 7410 I bought on sale for several years. Still works great and I dropped the dedicated phone line for the fax.

MFC-9970CDW
I got this brother a month ago and it's been a dream, it also scans both sides in one pass and I too only have one phone line. This unit answers fax calls automatically and lets the message machine answer the regular phone calls.
