e-signings in Texas

I would like to know where I can get info on e-signing rules, regs, etc. in TX. I would appreciate any info. If you have experience in e-signings I would love to talk to you. Thx.

Joe, the NNA has the rules for all the states as far as I know. I am in PA and my county is not ready, so I haven't made the effort to get the equipment, but I know that courses and information were available from NNA at least two years ago.

Alexia - are you referring to e-signings

or e-notarizations? I know NNA used to be involved in the e-notarization process but wasn't aware that they had any involvement in e-signings.

"...rules for all the states..." leads me to believe you mean e-notarizations...

Re: Alexia - are you referring to e-signings

What am I missing Linda? If I do an e-signing, there is usually a notarization in the package, and that would be an e-notarization. yes or no? Anyway, that is what I took it to mean. I was not aware that NNA did not have that information any more, I have not been very involved in e-signing or e-notarization. It is like the add-ons you get on a new car. The dealers call them whistles and bows and the tech's who have to work on the cars say that each one is just one more thing that can and usually does break or just quit working. I am not in favor of too many whistles and bows.

Re: Alexia - are you referring to e-signings

E-signings are signings done mostly digitally on the lender's secure website -

E-notarizations are notarizations done digitally

E-notarizations are not necessarily an integral part of e-signings, nor is e-notarization required - wet signature notarizations are acceptable and are required for the most part, especially on the docs needing to be recorded

E-signings and e-notarizations are two separate and distinct issues. E-signings are lender-regulated; e-notarizations are state-regulated.

Thx to all for the replies. Sounds like e-signings and/or e-notarizations are not a big source of income. Doesn't sound like it is worth the investment.
