Blank "V.A. Certificate of Eligibility" form

What do you do with these? I usually save it to the end and ask the borrower to complete (and then I take the opportunity to double check docs while borrower is doing this). Had a borrower today who said he already completed one and didn't want to do it again. He ended up finding a copy of the one he had already completed and transcribed the information.

Shouldn't this doc already be taken care of before signing appointment?

I have a notary friend who just has the veteran sign and sends it back blank.

Suggest you advise your friend how much trouble he/she can get into for notarizing a signature on a blank/incomplete document.

Anyone who would violate their oath in that manner demeans the office of notary public and what it has stood for during two thousand years of history. They should be ashamed.

This form is not notarized

It requires the veteran to complete a series of questions, which include the date he/she entered the military, date separated, and service number. This is for active service and also for reserve service. Then it also has a place to complete the info for any previous VA loans - date of loan and propery address for each propert, and attach a separate piece of paper if necessary to list all the loans and properties.

I don't have them complete it. It's part of the application

process & they have completed one before. They always have certain docs that they include in VA pkgs. Again, I follow instructions--no instructions to have them complete it and I don't take that upon myself. I have had a couple of situations where they want the bottom portion (race, etc. completed).

I wish they were filled in - mine never are...

It would make is soooooo much easier if they were indeed filled in already.
