Genuine Title & Safir Signing
Got a call today @ 10:30 for closing tonight @ 6:00; I was in the car driving when the call came and I accepted the job. When I got home and looked at my files, I realized my past experience with them was horrible, so I called back and told them because of my past experience with them I was unwilling to take the job. Shannon promised that if invoice sent to her, she would make sure it got paid within 30 days or less. I sent her email which asked her to respond stating the terms of payment for this closing prior to my printing the docs and going to the borrower’s home. And I also said in the email that I wanted her to understand that if she didn’t live up to the promises made to me on the phone about prompt payment I would involve the state Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau, among other avenues available to me. I just a few minutes ago got an email from her saying the job was canceled for today but will let me know when rescheduled. Any bets that she found someone who doesn't know about their deplorable payment practices and who agreed to take the job?

A couple month's ago Shannon called me as well for a signing. I accepted at first, because I was in the car. I got home and looked them up on here and saw that it was trouble. She had already sent the paperwork so when I looked at the deal it was for a mortgage application and not a closing. I put the address in my GPS and there was no such address. Not only that the phone numbers did not work. I called back and told her I was declining the signing.

I can't believe they are still in business. I see their name over and over again on different notary forums, all with horrible reviews - "they promised me they would pay me and then they didn't" or "the address was wrong" and other things. If these people post to this and other sites, why aren't they turning this company down? It doesn't take that long to look them up and see they are not someone you should work for. I don't get it.

If, after reading the reviews and deciding you're going to cancel, why would you let them try to talk you into the signing. Just cancel!! I almost worked for them, but cancelled and then received some nasty, demeaning e-mails from Mr. Safir. Now, I won't even answer the phone if they call.

Re: More Networking
I don't know if any of you are familiar with the networking site LinkedIn but there is a new Signing Agent section that is emerging. Their primary conversations are all about this Safir ding-dong and how no one is getting paid. As mentioned by others here, who would anyone even talk to this guy if he's this bad? There is a lot of bad press on this and other sites, and yet, people still write about not getting paid. Granted there are more and more crooks out there but this one should stick in your mind ......... Safir? Genuine Title? As opposed to Fake Title? Sounds like some people may have the beginning stages of Alzheimer's.

This is why deadbeats stay in business.....you give them another opportunity to stiff the next Notary.

We're our own worst enemies sometimes.

Truer words were never spoken, LKT/CA. It's kinda like a Ponzi scheme. Negotiate with Safir (or fill in the blank) to make sure you get yours. Then, when you don't get paid - which is highly likely you won't - the money rolls over to the next sucker .. and the next and the next who also never get paid. What's wrong with just saying NO and hanging up! Enough notaries do that, well.... we can dream, can't we?
Paypal is another way NSAs who can't see beyond the end of their nose keep these bums in business. How many times have we read this NR post: "So and so called. I looked them up on SC when I got home and saw they had a terrible payment history, so I called them back and said if they paid me by Paypal, blah blah blah."
I don't know if this behavior stems from greed, desperation, stupidity or what. But for the Paypalers to actually boast on NR about how "clever" they think they are while doing everything they can to keep these guys in business is plain pathetic.

I have always received payment from Genuine Title, HOWEVER...it is always very late regardless of promises made, invoices sent (which tend to get lost) and even Shannon, who has tried to be honest, has no control over payments...apparently.
Best advise...AVOID SAFIR AND G.T. AT ALL COSTS! jer/Ohio
