It looks like no one who has used these is interested in posting an answer; I have not used them. I see two problems. First, if you are really in Massachusetts as the Notary Rotary software has inferred from your IP address, you can't do closings unless you are also an attorney. The second problem is that different pads have different capabilities, so I would expect different signing software to require different pads.
Personally, I don't think much of signature pads. The fancy ones claim they record all kinds of biometric information such as the pen speed and pressure during the signing. But people may use one if these pads only once in their lives, so where are you going to get a specimen to compare to. We know there is a pool of forensic document examiners who can examine paper signatures, but how do we know there are any experts who could give convincing testimony about signature pads? If the dispute comes to trial 10 years after the signing, we might not even be able to find a full setup (computer, software, pad) that still works.
