Larger than normal packages
Twice this week I had 180 & 194 pages in a package! Neither SS could pay me anymore. They are both high-rated good cos, so I took one of them that I do alot of work for. Anyone else finding this now?

As far as I'm concerned, a package that size is the equivalent of 2 signings and you should ask for, and receive, extra compensation. That size of package will take extra time to print and extra time at the signing table, and in post-signing checking. If they refuse to pay more it's because they know someone will take it and not ask for extra money. I sure wouldn't do it.

Had one scheduled for tonight at 8 from one of my fav SS. Rush to get home and print. Open docs and its 173 pages! Luckily, I always look docs over before leaving. Turns out, borrowers' copies were included in package.
The other lucky thing ... all docs are dated for 11/23. Signing was postponed 'til next week.

One good thing from reading forums, I checked and they had 47 pages I did not have to copy for Borrower's copy--full tax return & appraisal (he had already gotten).

It's important to "get to know" your SS. Type of loans they handle, TC and nature of what's in the packages.
Yesterday I had a package, No escrow instructions (good) but no HUD-1 either. I asked if there was a specific reason those Docs were missing and the answer was. "Whoops?" Trust me, "the notary" would have gotten blamed if those Docs had not been returned.

Most of what I see are around 125 pages; i.e., "normal." The good ones are around 85 pages. I did have one a few weeks ago that was 228 pages (OMG!) and the signing took 2 hours, because there was also a lot of hand holding. That's how it goes some days in this business.

Carol, I know which tc you are talking about. I now call borrower and, ask if they received the appraisal and , answer is yes they do. Now, the tax returns I do print out for them to sign. I have asked about that one I have been told that they should sign again. You never know when the appraisal is included. Can you believe they want us to print that? Oh my!
