Ali, I always ask if they have gone over the HUD-1 with the borrower, it will save you a loan officer contact/ 30 mins at borrower. IMO

Took last minute from TC for 9pm still waiting on docs

Number 6 today, and I'm dead told them they have till 8:30 to get me docs not waiting all night the way I feel. Plus the next two days are packed already.

Re: Took last minute from TC for 9pm still waiting on docs

I learned today to also ask that question. Waited all day for docs and never received them.
I changed my schedule (bad move). When you learn better you do better.

Lol...I'd do it for an extra $100.00 BUT you have to know they will pay you, and not some new company that makes promises they do not keep.

Last minute signings are almost always because the previously booked notary got sick of waiting for the docs and gave the signing back. One time I gave a signing back due to no docs and scheduling called me 15 minutes later asking if I could do it. Talk about right hand not knowing what the left is doing!

AMEN! I gave one back yesterday because no docs and I had other appointments that were ready to go.

Company called just before midnight

Doc's almost ready, that is good I'm in bed. But we are going to give you 2XX for this. Sorry I did not accept the offer made at 10:30 why would I now. By the time I printed it and got there it would of been the next day and would of bet anything the docs were dated for Monday, plus did not want to get home at 2am if the borrower did want to sign.

If I was desperate I would of done it, but had a busy day and today is busy. Crazy who the hell waits that long to get docs out.

I would not have done it either - those types of jobs are usually a total PITA and hardest to collect on.

Sometimes I think it's not a case of them waiting that long

to get docs out - I sincerely believe the prior notary bails on them at the last minute.

I got a call at 7 last night for the next county over (40-45 mi. one way) at 10 - last night!!! He started his request with "I have a problem signing here" - heh..that sort of sealed the deal for me right out the gate!! Think he was having a problem getting it done because (a) they called at 7; (b) this company hasn't called me in forever; (c) he offered extra money and (d) he was sounding a bit flustered about it. I felt bad saying no but I work all day and have to be up at 5:30 - there's no way I could have accommodated them. Too bad too...they're a good company.

Re: Sometimes I think it's not a case of them waiting that long

I also find that when I do a loan signing that late at night, I myself am tired and that's when I make mistakes or miss things on the docs. I am not a nightowl - I get up early and I start getting sleepy at 9 PM. I leave my cell phone downstairs when I'm in bed. I will do an occasional late job for a great client if it's set up ahead of time, but no way am I going to "help out" a once-in-a-blue-moon company with their 10 pm or Midnight docs-are-not-ready closing.

Yeah, you know if they are that late, there most deff. will be an issue at the closing table!
