Re: Read the "Rule & Guidelines" at the top of this page.
I didn't find them in signing central and I didn't find a prior message referring to them; what Rule or Guideline have I violated? If I should not have used all caps for "TIA" in my message, then I apologize as I meant Thanks In Advance.

Re: Read the "Rule & Guidelines" at the top of this page.
It is the first rule, section 2.
"Do not advertise competing websites, directly or indirectly, without prior approval. We spend thousands of dollars per month to advertise our service for your benefit. We would rather not be paying to advertise for the benefit of our competitors. This includes sites like 123 and goMobile."
You received a spam message that was probably sent to every other notary on Notary Rotary. I did receive it also.

see this Welcome to the Notary Talk General Discussion Forum. Before posting, please read the Rules and Guidelines
Rule # 2. Do not advertise competing websites, directly or indirectly, without prior approval. We spend thousands of dollars per month to advertise our service for your benefit. We would rather not be paying to advertise for the benefit of our competitors. This includes sites like 123 and goMobile.

I'll pass
I don't like anyone who harvests my email and spams me, and I don't like anyone who comes on this board and pretends to be a notary recommending a site that they found only to find that it's really the owner of the site recommending his own site (which he did last week).

No one has to answer, but I'm wondering if there are
any rules about blacklisting? Yeah, I agree Al, it's soooo annoying when these companies have to do that. I really believe they come on the very popular sites and, as you called it, "harvest" our info.

"I hate to mention it"
If you "hate to mention it", then why do you mention it? Because you really LOVE to mention it, but you know you are breaking some kind of rule, so you back pedal as you say it. Everyone here is too smart to fall for this. I am not interested in a site that uses unethical means (advertising a competitors site) to promote themselves.

I understand the rules, but.......
If you want to find out about a site and it isn't in SC and there are no prior messages, how do you do it? I don't own that site or SS and I think my inquiry is not advertising. I am sure Harry will correct me if it is.

Re: I understand the rules, but.......
just an honest question, did you get approval to do so?

Re: I understand the rules, but.......
SC is for comments about signing services and title companies. The website that you mentioned is neither. It is a site that notaries pay money to be listed so ss and tc can find them. It is a NEW competitor to Notary Rotary.
