Met a few up and coming $50 notaries...

My commission is expiring next year so I took the state test last Saturday. I see several up and coming $40 notaries in my area Frown

If you are coming to take a test, READ all of the instructions which include; bringing your application already filled out, bring a 2 x 2 passport type photograph, #2 pencils, confirmation that you took a 3 or 6 hr. class, and a check made out to the SOS. AND arrive 45 minutes prior to the start time of the test.

I can't believe they let one guy even take the test, he came without any preparation, made the whole room wait for him to fill out his paper work, had no photo, didn't have proof of taking a class etc, etc, etc.

Too many of them did not have any of their paper work filled out and expected the test proctors to help them fill out the application! REALLY people??? Sheeeesh!

And then the gal who came in 25 min AFTER the test had started and expected to be able to sit down and take the test! She was lucky, they were giving another test later that day.

This is where the $40 and $50 notaries come from - that is IF they even pass the test - this was a test only, no class beforehand.

I'd love to see the pass/fail rate for that group.

My .02

Yep, 2 mechanical pencils full up with lead!

And you can leave out the jokes about having lead in your pencil Hugh
