Nationwide Notary Registry

Anyone every hear of this company? They are out of CA somewhere (424 area code). I just got one of my credit card bills and there is a charge from them. Not a large amount, but I don't remember authorizing it and am curious how they got my info. Of course when I called the number listed it went to voice mail. Will have to try later. CC company said to talk to the charging co first.

I got the same thing, and I spoke with my bank, they told me to dispute it. I sure did and got my money back. I don't remember ever dealing with them at all, so I have no idea how this happened.

I finally found their site and found myself listed on it. Don't remember signing although it could have been a while ago. Maybe one of those "free" sites that charges you without you knowing, or so they hope. Now that I know who it is, I will dispute it and get my money refunded. I have already now left a message and sent them a "contact us" e-mail.

How did they get your bank info in order to charge you? Did you give it to them when you registered on their site?

Just got an e-mail from them that they will refund my charge. Apparently I did sign up with them in April and now that the "free period" has expired, they are charging my account. I guess what really bugs me is that there was no reminder or even notice that this would happen. Since they had everything else, you think that they would send a note telling you it would happen at XX time. Lesson learned.

It's never free if they need your CC number to sign up. I stopped signing up on all the freebie offers because I forget about them and then when I am out of this business I will still be connected to these no-name notary directories.

Fairly new I think; advertising on the internet for notaries to join for a fee of course. I would avoid them.
