I dont know why it is almost every single time I accept a signing from a SS, that I seem to be chasing the money. I have given them more space for payment allowing them more time to pay than I normally accept and still have to email or call to find out where the payment is. Im not sure if its because Im not a regular notary for them, therefore they dont need me as much as say someone in a more populated area or what the deal is. This is especially bothersome when they state the details right in the confirmation of when you will receive payment and its still not there. Or you go into Signing Central, and their feedback comments dont reveal any problems with getting paid in a timely manner.

I just dont get it.

In addition, loan packages I've done through SS just seem to be wonky - huge packages with lots of weird docs, or surprise lender witness requirements when package is received (VA is not a witness state), or just simply that loan officer did not go over the final numbers ahead of time with borrower and we must spend time at the table making calls and the appointment ends up running very long.

Add on to that 30 - 45 day pay, and even worse if you have to send reminders. Also, I've had several SS short pay my check and then you have to spend time contacting them to get the rest of your money. There is one SS that absolutely does not send your check unless you call asking for it, at which time they feign bewilderment that it did not go out on the scheduled batch of checks, and then they send it. Happens every time, so now when they call I send to voice mail.

I concur......another aspect to add to the non payment/or chase payment issue. Not to mention their 3 pages of contradicting instructions and/or instructions that a experienced NSA should already know. You have to read them because buried in there might be info that is important to the signing, but going thru them you only find 2 things that really are. Or how about talking with someone from the company who is in another state and you're trying to tell them what you know to be fact for your notary laws or RE laws and they get very condescending with you. Thats usually the last straw for me, lol.

I had one on Sept EOM - late docs, no less than 7 pages of stuff for the notary to fill out and/or initial a huge list of items signifying compliance, and 14 notary seals. We finished the closing at 10 PM. Next time that SS called, I sent to VM.

Here is one of my favorites, you send an email for which you request a reply to make sure the email has been received and no one responds so you end up calling anyway......but if they send you an email, confirmation or edocs, and request a response, if you dont, you're in trouble.....

The respect of communicating in a professional manner seems to lean one way......

Oh well, whats a girl to do Smile

Re: Inappropriate email ~Julia Please Read~Whew!!

Here I thought you were an SS posting this to someone, lol. You should explain these things in your original posts, IMO......

Thank goodness, here I thought I was getting wrongfully accused of something or confused with someone else.

Why is it that many notaries complain about certain ss companies but no one ever names them? CALL THEM OUT! Even if they read this forum and they then make you wait or make you take them to small claims- it will certainly help out the rest of us! I'd take them to court just to make them travel!

This coming from someone who is posting with a tag name and not linkable?? For many reasons I dont call them out.....first, I dont take many closings from SS's so its not a long list to begin with, and second, maybe, just maybe its an isolated incident that I have yet to find out. Also, I dont care to mention the comp as some of my network members do work for them, soooo Im not about to tarnish the good relationship they may have with them. When one member of a network does something, it does indeed reflect on the other members whether we want it to or not.
If I have to wait an extremely long time for payment and do more chasing, then I will and always do comment in Signing Central. I do understand what you are saying but I believe the proper place to take care of it so others can view it is over there.

Inappropriate email from Ryan Stone at Global Notary

I printed 187 pages(x2) on 8/30/11 for Global Notary and still haven't received the $25.00 print fee. Below is response from the owner, Ryan Stone when I followed-up. I sent four professional follow-up emails and called but no luck. Then I complained on the phone to them. Below is his first reply to me. Again, this was $25 from 8/30. Why didn't he simply say, I apologize for the delay, your check will go out today!

His reply was...I have not issued you payment on purpose the past two days because I don't appreciate the way you have treated my staff or the way you have handled this situation. Do not call or email my office again ever and I will consider sending you check out today. If I see one more email or one more call from you I will put a stop payment on the check as I truly don't believe you printed a damn thing in that 20 minute span and that you truly just have nothing better to do with your day. I would like to be cordial in your responses going forward and realize my world does not revolve around you and your demands I would be happy to send out a check for $25 to you today so we can part ways. Your Choice!

Most of the companies I spoke about DO pay - I just choose not to work with them because of the large funky packages, surprise POA, or uninformed borrowers - all of which use up more of my time and can throw off my schedule, which is especially bad when you have good TC clients (which I do).

The SS that always feigns bewilderment that the payment did not go out on the last batch is ASAP Pro Notary in TX - they also always want to lowball, so I send them to VM every time now!

I work for some very good SS's.
They meet my fee, and I never have a problem getting paid in less than 30 days.
I am, however very selective, and stick it to me once, and I will never work for them again.
No Nations, no Speedy, you get my drift.
