ServiceStink

Would like to hear your opinions on the following: SL only calls me when they can't find a cheap NSA, so I don't get much business from them. Did a closing for them this past Saturday, they met my fee, closing was fine, all good happy stuff, until I went to update website. Apparently, all login info has changed unbeknownst to me. Call, email and send smoke signals to myriads of folks at SL. No help whatsoever. Today, a call from an SL scheduler who, for some reason, thinks I am fresh meat. Closing on Thursday night. Sure thing, tell her my fee, sends me a confirmation for $20 less than I quoted. Exchange more emails to get that straight. Then she sends email asking for W9 and proof of commission. I email clueless scheduler and tell her I am an approved NSA with SL and give vendor number. No response whatsoever. Next I get an email from her requesting I complete new sign up packet. Next comes email from vendor management with new vendor number. Unreal. Attempt more emails to straighten out this cluster. Still no response.

What are the chances I will ever get paid for last Saturday closing since I cannot update website? Can I ever convince clueless scheduler I am already approved, without suffering considerable brain damage? Now fighting compelling feelings to ditch Thursday closing and SL altogether and forever. Unprofessional? Will I regret it? What say you, NotRotters?

Have you tried contacting Vendor Management? n/m

Vendor Management won't respond to emails or phone calls. I will not accept any more assignments until comments on this forum indicate management has the process under control.

Yes, Yoli, my emails to VM elicit this reply: "Cannot give login info via email. Call this number ..." So I call said number and remain on infinite hold. Funny though, I received NEW vendor # and login info via email. Hmmm. At this point, I am leaning hard towards CLP's advice.

Servicelink - not stink

They have been one of my best companies for seven years straight. You have to invoice for your signings and you will be paid right around the 23rd...always, unless of course you don't invoice them. They have never questioned my fee or asked me to lower it. I don't understand the bad feedback...I have none....but by all means don't take their signings because their are plenty of notaries that are happy to make the money.

ServiceSTINKS!!!!

There is absolutely no reason to require an invoice for a closing that they know full well you conducted. That's why I don't work for them anymore, haven't for years. Then they require you to mail the invoice. Who does that in 2011??? Is a faxed invoice or emailed invoice not good enough? And they pay PEANUTS.

The $50-$75 notaries can have their fill of these clowns...ServiceSTINKS!!!!!!!!

Re: ServiceSTINKS!!!!

THIS notary does that in 2011...AND I get paid $XXX.XX for every signing, AND I'm still working full time as a notary...AND...you remind me of why I very rarely bother to waste my time on these discussions.

Your post sounds like SL runs a mickey mouse operation - the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I wouldn't work with such an unprofessional, boiler room operation either. When a company is a PITA, their signings seem to reflect that and most likely are a PITA, too. Buy a big bottle of aspirin.....you'll need it!

Re: ServiceStink Link or whatever

I have had much the same experiences with SL and do not take assignments from them either.. if memory serves - they always want a ton of faxbacks too on top of trying to get you to agree to unacceptable fees.. To the poster who loves them ~ May the Force be with you!

While I don't get called very often, I've never had a problem getting paid. They have met my fee or we have negotiated an acceptable fee based on time/travel. Am not shilling for them, and there's probably a reason they don't call me very often, because there are people in my area who work for less. That's OK. On the other hand, I'm now being called by National Link, a company that requires a gazillion fax backs, etc., but doesn't have the monthly billing like Service Link. The jury is stll out.

NationalLink is the same company, but separated in order to do PNC closings, as a business arrangement. You will find basically the same drill, except for the massive fax back requirements.

If you cannot get your fee, why bother with all the BS for 60 bucks, if they pay that now. Wise up people.

no problems here

I have worked with them for some years now. They are not sending me much in volume because I won't budge on my fee, but nothing else has changed. The completion report still runs the same way and the invoicing at eom is how I get paid. I usually receive my check in a timely manner right around the 18th of the month following month of service. I am glad to receive business from them for the fee I stick to.

Same here, and thank you for your integrity, Nancy.

I also stuck with my fee and now get less work from them but still enough for a decent payday at the end of the month.

For everyone who thinks the Service stinks, I feel your pain. And for the stalwart who stick with the Stink, I echo CJ's sentiments, i.e., 'may the force be with you'. All opinions are equally valid and respected. But for me, the Stink is "histoire" as they say in my Cajun French lingo. Adieu, adieu, kind friends, adieu. All grins here.

This company seems to be getting worse and worse. They call me to do a closing and the confirmation is always at least $10 less than what my fee is. A few of the schedulers plead ignorance but I know my sheet has been updated with vendor management. They have to check with their, "supervisors" to see if the paltry fee can be approved and of course they say, "It can't." I turned down 2 closings because they want to send me 1 1/2 away NOT including holiday traffic for less pay than my home area ??? C'mon ServiceLink, it's the holidays. The least you could do is pay the fee I so graciously lowered a few months ago; not insult me by paying less....
