AFA called me today and I was pretty sure they were a bad, bad company so as I asked him questions about the job, I was looking them up on NotRot. ME: "is it a refi? edocs? faxbacks? when will package be ready? when do you pay the notary? What if the loan rescinds or it's a no-sign, what do you pay?" When we got to the no-fund payment and he said they pay a trip fee, I said that doesn't work for me. He said "you know how it is in this business, that's just how it goes" I said "No, it isn't. The abstracter gets paid regardless, why should the signing agent get stiffed for something beyond her control? That would make me an interested party and I'm supposed to be a disinterested party." HE SAID "DO YOU WANT TO KEEP ARGUING WITH ME WHEN I'M TRYING TO GIVE YOU SOME WORK?" By then, I'd found what I needed on NotRot. They are a slow-to-no pay company. I just said, No thanks and ***click***
