brother hl-5370 question
Well, my 5370 printer has reached 97,500 pages and the remaining life of the fuser and laser is almost zero. When the pagecount reaches 100,000 will my printer stop until I replace these parts, or can I reset it and keep printing like I do when the drum pagecount runs out.

Larry, I wish I could answer that one but, mine is brand new.

I have never had to replace a fuser - would not know if the cost would be prohibitive. After replacing a few drums on the HL-5250, I usually find a good deal on a new printer that's nearly as much as a brand name drum and call it insurance against additional costs down the line.

Call Brother, ask for US based support. Tell them you're awaiting deliver of fuser, but you expect to hit 100,000 before it arrives. Ask for reset info. I assume it will be a nag screen, not a hard lock up. Look at REFURB 5370 at Staples/Buy.com/PCconnection. S/B $150, less with any coupons, discounts, tradeins, Black Friday, etc. Could be as low as $100. Fuser will be $50-100 for parts plus installation,I'm sure. Refurb comes with full 1yr mfg warranty. Then you've got backup machine using same toner/ drum as your present machine and skip fuser.

Thanks, I did buy another refurbished printer and will see what happens when this one hits 100,000 pages. Larry

Great, let us know what happens, now I'm curious. My only newer printer that has the monitoring system is nowhere near that yet.

I also have a Brother 5370, fairly new. I am curious how do you know how many pages you've printed? Don't tell me you've been counting!!

I use the HL-5240 and on it you press the "GO" button 3 times and it gives you a printout.
