An update on a hostile customer...

...that makes me giggle.
She had told me at the time of service that the requesting authority for her notarization said no other wording for the jurat would be accepted exept their pre-printed (wrong) wording. And I'd be responsible if her document was rejected. I know it's preferred to place a jurat stamp directly on the form vice attaching a loose cert, but this particular document was just too cramped and there was no room. So I attached a loose certificate properly, and tolerated her ranting and empty threats.
Today, she informed me that her document was accepted, but the agency called and told her they'll only allow an attached certificate "for the next few months, after which the document will be rejected unless the stamp is actually on the document". She said they had mentioned that, in the future, they may revise their forms so as to accomodate every state's individual notarial laws or leave space for a stamp.
I find it really odd that an agency would accept the form, yet still go out of their way to call the individual and inform them of future policy that may/may not occur, and that really has nothing to do with the customer. ? I would think that is not really common practice.

maybe she's just not happy that it was accepted, you were

right, and wanted to have the last word with you.
Some people wouldn't be happy if you hung 'em with a new rope.
I doubt they called her. If anybody called anybody, she prolly called the agency.
By Constitutional law, it has to be accepted with correct CA verbiage.

I know! Maybe she thinks she had the last word, but it really made my day! I'm still smiling. It's nice to be vindicated, even when you know you weren't wrong. If I was wrong, I certainly wouldn't call someone I had been nasty to and admit it!! Smile

That easy. To me it looks like an unhappy camper want's to punish you for proving them wrong. That is, tell the borrower ON you so the BWR will complain to the TC who will then tell the SS not to hire you.

Heaven forbid they would be "forced" to ....revise their forms so as to accommodate every state's individual notarial laws or leave space for a stamp......

Thanks for the follow-up!

This was actually GNW, not a loan. There's no way I'd have been able to handle her for however long it would have taken to close a loan signing. I don't even want to think about it! Really made my Friday, her letting me know "in the future...."

How about a follow-up from you to them (but wait a couple of hours first) saying something like... Thanks for your phone call. I called my friend, President Barack Obama and he made a couple of phone calls and said that nope, they are not going to change the forms but that they will want notaries public to attach a loose cert. Be sure to say that he cleared it through the UN and God so that they won't be able to top it. ha ha ha
