Bank of America
Today the stock is trading below $6 and the Bank of America web site indicates, "Home Page Temporarily Unavailable" Are we heading to a credit crunch again? Closing fee's are dropping, money is running dry, and margins are very thin. Whats going on?

Uuuhhh, I don't know quite how to answer that. If you have been paying attention to any of the news the past 5 years, you should have a handle on it. B of A is just the latest.

Part of the issue is that BofA is taking a hit for announcing their decision to begin charging customers $5/month if they use their debit card even once in the month (plan on starting in Jan. '12, I think).

Since $5 dollar debit deal
BOA website for the east coast was down for more than two hours on Friday and caused delays over the entire country.
I have not been able to log in on my account today for the last couple of hours.
Guess when you raise fees, lay off almost 10K of staff someone is going to get POed..
Citi just said they are adding new fee too, need 6K in deposits or they will charge 16 dollars a month.

These poor simpletons apparently don’t realize WHERE these BIG corporations get their money….THEY GET IT FROM US! Pass a new restrictive law, or tax them more…guess what? They just pass it along…..to us.JMO

But you knew that, of course. As rightwingers, you and Wingnut Jr. don't have to abide by the rules that govern the rest of us, right? You are, after all, the Bearers of the Holy Rightwing Word and since that is Holy Script, what applies to the rest of us mortals doesn't apply to you.

You're not only wrong in posting here...
...wrong in your refusal to accept responsibility for polluting this forum with your rightwing vomitus, you're wrong in your facts.
Bank of Amerca's debit card fee had nothing to do with taxes or a tax-the-rich mentality. It was a response to a new law that limits the fees that can be charged merchants for credit card charges. That law was, incidentally, requested by business.
But then, facts, just like rules, never did matter to you rightwingers when you start spreading your manure, did they?

So the story goes…..Even in these modern times there were two travelers one from Colorado and one from Texas. They just happened to be walking across the bridge spanning the Rio Grande River just north of Taos NM. Each of these guys in mid-span had to relieve themselves. One went to one side of the bridge, the other to the other. The Coloradoan, being impulsive and not well seasoned spoke first…. “Man that water is sure cold!” said he. The Texican said in a most authorial voice….. “It’s deep too!” I acquiesce to the Texican Journalist…. I being just an ordinary NSA trying to get by in this world.. I leave all my past thoughts somewhere not to be easily found, while I try and recover and discover the meaning… but I’m looking only in honest places, with simple words. Not with the elequance. or command of 'HIS HUGENESS'

I was told yesterday that BOA might not make it to the end of the year. A good part of the reason is the toxic loans they inherited from CW and TBW.

IMO they were teetering anyway because of CountryWide &
Merrill Lynch. The announcement to charge $5 for debit card fees will kill them. We recently talked about cutting costs in biz when times are tough. Bob-Chicago posted the "hot dog stand story". It was great & applies to a lot of what is going on in America these days, IMO.

Actually the name calling and bully pulpit have gone too far
"I don't recall having seen you on here before, Lola, so I surmise that you don't post in NotRot. I'm also assuming that in those venues where you do post, the other participants are similarly unaccustomed to conducting their business without namecalling. So I'm going to suggest that you retire to those venues, where you should feel much freer to spew whatever vomitus moves you at the moment.
You don't belong here."

Yeah, you're right, Stoli, things have gone too far
This is the second time in as many weeks that your rightwing cohort Les has chosen some forum other than Just Politics to throw his rightwing claptrap around. And when I find someone who insists on being a jerk, especially a rightwing jerk, I don't have any problem identifying them as such.
So, you want to do something positive, you want to see that none of your wingnut pals aren't identified as rightwing jerks, then instead of jumping on those who tell them to take it where it belongs, YOU tell them to take it where it belongs. That's what Just Politics was created for, the kind of rightwing -- and leftwing -- rants that touched off this exchange.
But you, like your pal Les, won't do that, will you? You rightwingers don't have to abide by the rules; you are free to pollute any of the NotRot forums with your rightwing manure.
You're right, it isn't my forum. It's here for everybody, and EVERYBODY should be able to enjoy it and benefit from it without having to contend with Les's -- or your -- rightwing bull while we're here.

Re: Yeah, you're right, Stoli, things have gone too far
Oh my! I didn't see the answer to the question having to do anything with politics. It was just an answer and, an opinion to what was first posted.
People keep in mind that this is a forum of learning and, sharing your experiences(professional)sometimes even though we have been in the business for a long time and , haven't made mistakes we might here and there sometimes just plain forget something. Be it from fatigue age or otherwise.
If you are sitting at home angry at how your life if leading please take a deep breath and, look around at what you have to be thankful for and, if you don't well don't take it out on others.
Remember that we are not perfect and, make mistakes just like everyone else. There may be a day that you will come on here with what others may consider a stupid question and, need some help.

Re: Yeah, you're right, Stoli, things have gone too far
Once again, you’re writing about things you know nothing about. I’m absolutely positive that I’ve never posted a political comment, so your ‘wingnut’ and ‘teabagger’ comments are misinformed, completely unfounded and offensive. Once again, why must you resort to name calling? Isn’t it a bit infantile for someone with your literary genius? No one wants to address the issue because of your slice-and-dice style of writing, but many of us are offended. I, for one, will live far beyond your acidic attacks and the microcosm of Notary Rotary.
For the record, I’m one of your most faithful readers, adore your style and humor, but wonder why the point can’t be made without name calling and profanity. And for the record, problems in the banking industry may cause work-related issues, so I’m unsure why you believe the original post was inappropriately placed in the Discuss Work forum, but you’re entitled to your opinion. Once you determined the post was inappropriate for Discuss Work, you continued to post until you could declare a win by tagging posters with ugly names. Just because you post something doesn’t make it true. Not too long ago someone pointed out that your post was in the wrong forum, and now it appears to be a vendetta. Form over substance.
Again, many of us already solicit your opinions and guidance because of your outstanding career and experience. Why flog your audience and admirers? A wingnut is a bolt, something used to hold things together. A teabagger is a person who engages in a particular homosexual act. Both characterizations are ridiculously childish.
In case you haven’t noticed, we can’t post the 10 words that George Carlin popularized because this is supposed to be a professional forum. By the way, no one enjoys the forum when you load up the cannon and fire away. You have no idea if I’m right or left of center or a cohort of Les, now do you, Hugh?
As previously stated, I'm your most faithful reader, but the name calling is just too much.

Re: Yeah, you're right, Stoli, things have gone too far
1. The single hottest issue in Washinton today is raising taxes on the rich. Want to go back and read Les' post, and then claim it isn't political?
2. If you spoke up and said it's just fine to burn crosses on the front lawns of African-Americans, I would have no problem at all identifying you with those racists. Likewise, when you enable Les' continued posting of rightwing crap on this forum, I don't have a problem identifying you with the rightwingers -- who, as I have pointed out more than once, are the only ones who EVER intentionally post their blather in this forum. Others reserve it for Just Politics, where it belongs.
3. Thank you for the kind words regarding my posts on other subjects. I am glad you find them useful or entertaining. It would be far more pleasant if others, such as Les, similarly restricted their posts.
Most of this exchange -- and those similar ones that are ensured for the future, since Les persists in posting rightwing political crap and you and others insist on enabling that practaice -- could have been avoided with a simple, one-line post from you folks:
"Les, please post political comments in Just Politics."
Absent that entirely reasonable solution, I can assure you that when I see the type of rightwing political garbage in the work forum that began this exchange, you will get a marked reaction from me every time. If I want to be exposed to that kind of offal, I can go to Just Politics or watch Faux News. I don't come to the work forum for it, and I do not want my experience on this forum diminished by it.

Re: Yeah, you're right, Stoli, things have gone too far
Again, I assert that I’m your most loyal fan and admire your professional contributions to me personally and to the board. It was very thoughtful of you to write a letter to Los Angeles County regarding the NNA, and because you knew it was an important issue for me, you sent a copy of your letter to me, and that kindness will never be forgotten. You didn’t have to contribute, but you did. Because of your expertise, many of us reach out to you in a very special way and place stock in your words that we might not someone of lesser experience and professional training. Believe it or not, we appreciate you.
As for me posting political comments in the Discuss Work forum, I suggest you do a search for my name, and I’ll bet you won’t find any such posts---other than regarding the NNA. But, because you asked so politely, and your reasons are fair and just, if I have a political comment, I will post in Just Politics as requested. I usually don’t post because the issues become personal.
I was not aware of any special connection with Les, but I’ll check, and if you’re correct, and have posted inappropriately, I’ll apologize. If I have a question and post on the board, I’m sure Les would answer to the best of his ability, so for that, I consider him and others on the board to be cyber buddies.
The language is vile.
