I9 Forms
I just received an email from a Robyn Allen, CSA. She wants to pay $25 to have an applicant come to my home or office for me to complete the I9 Form (Employment Eligibility Verification Form, sometimes called U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service Form), then fax or email the completed form to her while the applicant is with me, then mail the forms to her. The I9 Form does not need to be notarized, and the process takes about 20 minutes to complete. My experience with the I9 Form is that I also make a copy of their driver's license and social security card or passport. Has anyone worked on an assignment like this and what is a reasonable fee?
Thanks.

I9 Forms - Marian Harmon wrote extensively about this topic
Marian provided the information from the USCIS Handbook for Employers (M-274) which specifies that the following form must be filled out by the employer and provided to the notary public prior to notarizing the I-9 document.
Actually, it is my understanding that the I-9 asks the notary to certify dates of employment, and the notary would have no way of verifying the employment data requested.
More information is available on her website.

I9 Forms - Exactly. Here is the phrase that is the problem:
Further, we understand that per the USCIS Handbook for Employers (M-274), we are "responsible for the contractorˇ¦s actions and are liable for any violations of the employer sanctions laws" that may arise.
Marian proves more information on her website. She's the best!
