Kudos to Kyle at LSI
I agreed to a signing for my usual fee. When the docs arived there were more than 200 pages. The escrow department said : "we have many notaries who receive packages that include broker's docs, they are usually 200 pages, and the notary just goes and does the signing". My reply "then they must be idiots" (in my head). Transferred to Kyle and he was patient and met my additional fee.

Was it a Chase loan and were there two copies of the docs? I was floored when I got my package yesterday and it was 198 pages. I immediately replied that I needed a fee increase. I got a reply in the way of a new vendors service agreement with fees posted lower than what I was getting from them.
When looking thru the doc package, I noticed that the second half of the package was identical to the first half. I just printed one set, separated and made the second half the borrower's copy. Only exception is the last few pages were the HUD, which wasn't in the first half. I then sent them a reply that I didn't need the fee increase on the package. I truly believe it was just an oversight or a system glitch. You might want to look thru your docs and see if it was the same situation.

Chase used to do that routinely, but they would have a page in there in front of the second section that said "Borrower's Copy". It sure would be nice to know that up front. I didn't catch it the first time, and just printed two full sets before I had a chance to flip through the package. Wasted a ton of paper and toner on that one! (But I'm older and wiser now... )
