Laugh of the day--attitudes.....
I had to call a tc today because the contact nos. they gave me for the borrowers were #1--a fax line: #2--a non-working no. Her response was "well, what do you want me to do about it?" WTH??? Duh---I think you need to contact the lender to get a correct phone no. so I can confirm with the borrowers? Unbelievable!!

Re: I've had incorrect phone numbers before
If I can't immediately get in touch with the borrower for reasons such as listed, I'll resort to "the phone book", either hardcopy or internet. Sometimes they show up and there's been a transposition of numbers.
The attitude thing is a bother, though. Aren't they in the customer service business?

You can sometimes find a few on the 1003. n/m

I tended toward solving the problem too - a little sleuthing
goes a long way to nailing a deadline, making everyone happy - with no drama.

I agree, of course, and have done that many times. I
just found some humor in the "what do you want me to do about it'? response :-)

Didn't mean to sound huffy, sorry. Gotta agree about
the response - it's a PPA (p*ss poor answer).

I've run into this and if I have the docs, the first place I go is to the 1003, there's the home # and work # on the first page, generally I've found that the SS/TC have reversed some of the digits. Otherwise, I just call the TC listed on the confirmation even if closing comes from a SS.

I just got a wrong number the other day.
The confirmation said "Please use this number to confirm with client."
When I called, a Panera Bread employee answered the phone, not the borrower. It wound up being the number for the signing location. Unbelievable!

I like the have the number to confirm the appointment before I print the docs. It is sometimes difficult to get a print fee if no appointment.
