I need to share this. I got a call offering a reverse mortgage signing for $60. The scheduler told me the fee was lower because there are no fax-backs and the docs would be overnighted. I told her my fee for a RM is $XXX without edocs/ faxbacks and she told me that was what ND was getting for the job. If true, then ND would be making more on this assignment than me. Just for making some phone calls and finding an inexperienced notary. I passed, but was polite even though I was annoyed. Unfortunately, I've found a new revenue stream. Lately I've been cleaning up 2 to 3 $60 notary messes per week and I charge my full fee.
