Split signings CA notaries

Don't mean to complain but geez. I am doing the 2nd part of a signing tomorrow. The docs were o/n to me by the other notary. Property in CA. On every doc that was notarized, the CA notary stamped CA correct wording for a jurat and filled it in. That's fine, but he also crossed out the pre-printed jurat section that I could use. So, we BOTH had to attach a loose certificate. Makes no sense to me. Please be considerate of the 2nd notary. When I am the 1st notary, I use attachments and let the 2nd notary have the original.

I agree, Linda. It might have just been force of habit, but if the first notary just takes a moment to stop and think, they'll realize that it makes sense to leave what is provided on the chance the second notary can use it - especially since we're having to attach a loose cert anyway.

Also, when I do a split signing where the 2nd notary is using the same docs, I try to make sure that there are enough RTC (and TIL) copies for the second signer, since it's likely they won't have access to the borrower's copy.

I do the same thing, attach loose certificate so the 2nd notary can use the certs in the package if they choose to. Hopefully they weren't thinking even if you're suppose to.

Perhaps you could "steer" the notary to this post if you know who they are.
