Toner & Supplies

Some time ago a poster suggested Abacus for toner. The prices are fair. You can check at:
www.private.abacus24-7.com Free shipping and discount on second item ordered.

A poster also suggested Monoprice.com. I have found their HP Laser toners to be good values, and they have replaced toners which were defective.

Since remanufactured toners are not perfect it is a good practice to keep at least 2 spares.

I have ordered from both places. The Abacus toner worked fine for me, but after a fellow NotRoter said they did not handle a defective item in a friendly manner, I started ordering from Monoprice. I did have one defective cartridge from Monoprice, but they took care of it right away, handling the issue quickly, at their expense, and to my satisfaction. I will order from them again.

LD products update

I've been meaning to post an update about LD products cartridges since I've given them bad reviews on this board before and wanted to be fair. This seemed like a good place. I decided to take a chance on them again a while back because I was in a hurry and they were offering free shipping. (I got another email from them today offering that again, BTW.)

I recently changed out the first one, which I was beginning to call the "Chanukah" or "miracle" cartridge - it lasted a whole lot longer than expected... Wink I've never gotten more than 8-9k printed pages from a cartridge that is rated for 12k pages, since our uses tend to be so toner-intense with lots of page coverage, etc. After the toner low indicator was saying I had about 300 pages left, I think I printed 6 - 8 full packages, with 2 copies each! It kept on going like the energizer bunny, and I think I only had to shake it once. When I finally swapped it out, it was just beginning to print faint pages, and had printed a total of over 11,000 pages!

Some of this could be luck and smaller packages, but still... I'm now wondering if these were from a different supplier - and if that's the case, I want to buy from them (or make sure I get the same ones again)! These are for an HP 2430dtn. The label on these cartridges (I bought two and am now using the 2nd one) doesn't say "LD Products", it says "NT-C-6511XQ". I'm hoping that's a long-term relationship!

Re: LD products update

Thanks JanetK....I stopped using LD products because I never got a low toner warning......it just stopped. Boy what a headache, had to keep two on hand just in case.

I'm surely paying more ( staples, office depot ), for the ability to find out when I'm running low but my stress level has disappeared.

Re: LD products update

Janet, I have the same printer as you do and I typically get the same number of pages - usually around 8000ish. Once in a great while I get those micracle cartridges - love it when that happens!

I've also gone back to LD Products. I tried Monoprice

on a recommendation from here, but didn't get free shipping. I've had good experience with them & they quickly replaced any defective items when I had a problem to two. :-)
