Wishing all are having a GREAT EOM!!

Seems that not all but most of my closings this week are scheduled the morning of or hours before. Thankfully I am able to accomodate! Be safe!

Hi Linda! So far so good. The calls keep coming.

There are a LOT of calls for closings the day of, I absolutely agree.

Hope your EOM kicks butt! When are we getting together? Let's do so before the holidays.

I wish the same, should be done by 7pm today

If everything runs smooth. Small packages 3 deals in a bank one at home and not taking any last minute deals.

Cancellations and reschedules for me. One borrower didn't

even know he was closing tonight and is unavailable. Mon/Tues appts cancelled. One today, 2 tomorrow, 2 Friday.

My sympathies--same here today. Reschedule, wrong docs, etc.

It's been a headache for sure. I started the day with 7 on the calendar. Looks like 3 will go. :-(

The good news is, next week should be busy as a result. ;-)

"Reschedule, wrong docs"...that's exactly what I was saying

yesterday. It's so frustrating. So I have this closing scheduled for 6pm, no doc's yet, and I just had a co offer me a closing for the same time at a higher fee than the one I have scheduled. Why oh why didn't they offer this one a few days ago? ugh...and I've already had a cancellation from, the current 6pm company.

Keeping my fingers crossed...

"So I have this closing scheduled for 6pm, no doc's yet, and I just had a co offer me a closing for the same time at a higher fee than the one I have scheduled"

Isn't this the prime example of "accept the job and the one with no docs gets put to the back of the pack"? I wouldn't sacrifice a job for a company that doesn't have their act together...

Thanks Linda and it would be ideal except that

I have another at 8pm. Doubt the bo's would want to meet at 9:30-10pm.

I just don't have it in me to turn it back because I don't have the doc's 2hours before. We all know that it's more common to receive the doc's after that
2-hour-PRIOR-to-the-ACTUAL-closing-time hour.

Since I have the leeway of time between the two (6pm & 8pm closings), I would rather give it a few extra minutes than miss out on the $XXX altogether. If that's how some people choose to run their business then so be it, but I try and be flexible. Even IF it's sometimes to a fault.

Last minute closing turned out to be why I LOVE this job

I had 2 scheduled, beginning at 4, another at 6:30 and then a call for one after the 6:30. I told the scheduler that I probably could not get there before 8:30. I left it that maybe she should find someone else but she said everyone else was booked. I called her back about 40 minutes later to see if it had been covered. It had not. The Mrs.borrowers 54 yr. old sister has cancer and this was the borrowers day for a break from bedside vigil, rotating with mom and sister. As it turned out, we had many friends in common through church connections. Had I known what I was going to walk into, I would have paid for this closing. This lady is a decorator. Took an older 1600sf house and made it into 3000sf. She had decorated the house in old world charm and EVERY square foot in ANY direction was a FEAST for the eyes. I was just floored! Everything used to decorate had a story behind it as she had lived in Germany, Guatamala? and other places. She was given a 9K baby grand piano, just to get it out of a home. It made my day, maybe my year! And I was able to accommodate her in her family crisis by being available at a late hour.

I love the last minute ones that come with docs.

The scheduled-three-days-ago closings that all come in with wrong, or NO docs are for the birds. :-/

I just had the third one of the day go away because the bank failed to transmit docs to title.

:-(

Of the five closings that remained for the day....

I have docs for one, and "pending" docs on another. All others canceled. Totally shouldn't have bothered hiring a babysitter.

Seems to be a big problem this past week

One bank gave borrower 1000 credit because of delay of a week. I think the closer lost there job after that one.

I'm exhausted thinking about my day - I'll be working until about 10pm. But you can't beat meeting new people!
