Our small town has an annual homecoming in Aug. I do the parades. I dedicated our Sunday parade to Sept 11 and all the armed forces. I made a float with the 344 fireman's and 72 policemen pictures that were killed that day. I had about 100 firemen walk and carry a huge flag with the float along with about 30 firetrucks. It was awesome. I also had our 8 remaining WWII vets as grand marshals. The Navy, Army, Marines and AF all walked too. I also had flat bed trucks with Korean, Vietnam, Gulf, Irag and Afganistan vets on it. It was an honor to HONOR them all.

Thank you Linda for all of us. I’m glad you included the remembrance of the fallen veterans of all our wars and those that served that are still among us, as well as those that fell and those that served on 911, civilian or not, all heroes of our new unspoken war.

What were you doing that day? I was about to hop in the shower when a friend called screaming to turn on the Tv..My husband and I sat in silence and tears as we saw the 2nd plane hit the towers..At 6 that evening I went to the local park to think and pray. There was a small group of people holding hands around the Flag pole. I joined them and started singing songs about America. Some brought and lit candles and laid them at the base.
I plan on going back to that same spot at 6pm..
