A certain shade of ink?

Just got a call for a buyers pkg...read the notary instructions...they want the docs signed with dark blue ink! What? Next I'll have to buy pens with brown ink..but wait!...what shade? Moneyman/Tx, is this the way it is in Texas? The property is located in El Paso.
I have black and blue pens...and not from beating them up!
They are going to send the docs back because SOMEONE decides that my blue ink isn't dark enough?
Sorry,
This just caught me off guard.

You're probably ok, topflyt. Unless, that is, you're signing in "baby blue." Wink

Personally I like the idea of legal brown....always have. Or how about Peacock Blue?

I'm a fountain pen fan....inks are wonderful. Not tattoo though.

I had a borrower last month who wanted to use his favorite

fountain pen. His wife wanted him to use the ball point pen I provided because she didn't want to have to worry about waiting for the ink to dry so she wouldn't smudge his signature. He gave in after signing a few documents.

I have actually seen some lender instructions that specify a ball point pen be used.

Had a pen once, with a nice fat grip, blue ink - but for one

SS - not "blue" enough. Apparently to them, it looked like pencil. I said, "try to smudge it," and got: "Not the point. To light, especially when copied - go re-sign."

These BOs had been thrrough the mill, what with one fru-faw after another. I said, "then YOU call the borrowers, tell them you didn't like the blue ink used, and find another Notary." They had already asked me to go back to her work to add a 'J', and fax. I did. On the way back home, they called and said they didn't like her 'J', and to go back and have her do a "better loop". I laughed, and said same thing - you call her.

Can't remember who the SS/TC was, but who cares? It was off the charts for those old timey "picky" whippersnappers who didn't sound old enough to vote.
