Has any done Vinyl letting on your vehicle to advertise? What are your opinions on this?

Many here do - if you search you'll find posts about it
including the work that was generated as a result. However, I will say be careful - some subdivisions/developments/planned communities (usually those with homeowners' associations) have regulations in their by-laws that prohibit advertising on any vehicle - I remember one guy from Miami got in a lot of hot water because of his signs. You'd have to check on that, depending on your personal circumstances.

To me doesn't seem worth it because most people go to the internet to find a notary or signing agent.

It's about City and County Regulations, too. In my city (and the one I was in before that) their residential zoning laws prohibited residents from keeping business signs on their vehicles. Of course, you could use them when you were working... but your vehicle, parked in your driveway? No, sir. It mainly has to do with commercial advertising on residential property.
The solution is to get removable magnets rather than permanent vinyl lettering if you live within city limits where this is an issue.
It seems silly to a lot of people...and it's annoying to me, too, to regulate this. My neighbor, a handyman, used to have his work trailer (with the company logo, etc.) parked on the side of his yard. He got a warning from the city about it... and he was forced to move it to a commercial property to store it. It never bothered me... but the city has their rules.
Ironically enough, They also make me, as a mobile business, apply a sticker to my rear window that shows I'm a registered business in the city. That's permanent, looks similar to a parking permit sticker. So if I'm driving about town with my magnets and the local LEOs (who have nothing better to do in this tiny little town) see that I don't have the permit decal... I'll get a citation.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear the fuss that they put you guys through. I live outside city limits and usually unless someone complains or makes a "Big Deal" about it. They tend to look the other direction and not care. I live in Amish country, so most of the neighbors are Amish.

I have a custom license plate frame that has my cell number at the top and "Mobile Notary Public" at the bottom. So far, no customer has mentioned they found me because of my license frame, but it's something I don't have to put on and remove (like the magnets, which I do have but don't use).

I paid to have vinyl lettering put on my car. In over 2 years with it on, I've only had 3 calls, 1 that actually resulted in work. Did not pay enough to cover the costs.

I'm glad I have them. I've only had 3 people ask me to notarize right away, but about 5 have asked for my bs. cards. I got then from local mail center. .

I bought 2 magnetic signs from PAW...they are lovely. I put them on about 18months ago and braced myself for the onslaught of requests...thought I'd have people waiting at my car in parking lots, jotting down my number as we were blowing down the road, etc. Soooo, in 18 months I have had exactly one person come up to me in a parking lot - and he just wanted to know where I had my signs made!!!!!!!
But I "wear" them proudly and think of PAW everytime I get into my car.

I also have a PAW sign on my trunk lid...
Have had a number of folks call me from it, some who were right behind me in traffic, and are amazed that such a service exists.
I hope someone will be able to continue making these signs, both as a tribute to PAW and because they're quite useful!

Roger If you go to www.pawnotary.com, the website for the guy who made the signs for Paul is linked.

I have the stick-on version from PAW, my door panels are
plastic.
If ordering, I'd suggest putting a blank space between your lines:
Not this: Mobile Notary Public 555-555-5555
But this: Mobile Notary Public 555-555-5555
More readable. You may have to pay for the blank line, but to me, it would have been worth it.
The size is not large for reading from afar, but parking lots, traffic, it's fine. My car is tiny.
Vinyl lettering is in any size you want, any font, etc - more versatile, plus flat against the car.

Well, that didn't come out very well - but hope you get the
idea.
Best of luck.

PAW is Paul Williamson, who was a very valued member here. He passed away July 21st.

Yes. I opted for vinyl lettering on the rear window of my SUV instead of magnets on the side. It does get attention, and I've gotten quite a few calls from it. Also, it clearly identifies me when I am out on signings. Since I use my vehicle more than 50% in biz, pay insurance and taxes for that, I take advantage of the advertising space. BTW, I live in a condo & PUD & no one has ever made an issue of the lettering. I have my business name, the words "Mobile Notary" and my phone no. Works for me. Also, it probably cost me about $30.
