Has anyone done work for these guys? They're cheap. I contacted them trying to gain their business and they sent me a Notary Packet. When I looked at their compensation schedule, I noticed that they only pay $50 per signing. When I told them that my minimum fee is $100 plus $25 for Edocs, this is what they responded:

"It up to you, if you want to make your base fee $100 that’s fine, but you won’t have may calls. We do have a lot of notaries that are certified and there rated excellent and have their base fee at $50. So just keep in mind the less there fee is the more calls and signing we give to the notaries."

Are there really notaries out there whom accept $50 for a signing? Shame on you. Because of you, these companies make all the money and you do all the work. You also make it difficult for other notaries. All these companies do is find the notary, but we do all the work. $50? No thanks

When they call me they meet my fees.

As far as telling people "We do have a lot of notaries that are certified and there rated excellent and have their base fee at $50." IMO, it is just a marketing ploy on their part and is not the actual truth, at least not when one is speaking of specific areas in the country. Overall, they might have "a lot" (in truth or in their eyes only?).

The last few that they called me for were for last minute signings and the docs were not ready in time for the appointments. Overall, based on their attempts to pay a base rate of $50 and the last minute signings without docs even being ready, I would not consider them to be in my target market.

As far as receiving payment from them goes, I have not had any issues with receiving payment on time (avg is 13 days). In that aspect, they are in my target market. Smile

They always meet my fees and pay promptly. In fact, I completed a signing last Friday the 16th and received my check today! It was a purchase with lender docs $xxx. I don't get that many calls from them, but I like working for them.

It may just be my area, but I worked with them for years -

always met my fee, paid like clockwork, and had great communications/support.

Maybe it's the times, location, who knows.

If they've changed, it's a shame.

Sometimes they try to lowball, but I have had nothing but great experiences with them...in fact, I just accepted a seller's pkg. (18) pgs for tomorrow...yes it is a low fee...$50.00...but no printing and I will walk to the signing...2-3 blocks! I won't get carpal tunnel trying to turn the ignition key.

They're one of the last few SS's that I still consider good to very good, although I don't get a ton of calls regularly. I completed an eSign for them recently then rec'd a check within 7 days.. They call, telll me about the assignment, ask for my fee, I tell them...we move on. Sometimes it's accepted others not. I won't lose any sleep if they don't accept my fees. Don't get me wrong, I like them and have no issues with them.

I had heard the packages were small so I decided to sign up with them and give one a try and see how it went. They never called until last month at EOM, when they called at 8 PM just as I was pulling into my driveway from my last closing for the night. Docs were ready and they needed to close ASAP. Remembering the $50 listed in the signup packet, but thinking to myself that there is no way I am doing a $50 closing this late at night on EOM with no notice, I quoted my rock bottom $XXX fee and they accepted. Let me tell you, this was a full refi with edocs and NOT a small package that would warrant a $50 fee.

I closed it and they paid quickly, but I will not accept $50 from them when they call. In reviewing the packet, it says $50 base fee plus $25 for edocs printing, so I guess that means they pay a total of $75 under normal circumstances. Still too low for a full refi IMHO.

I generally am happy to receive a call from them

payment is very timely without any hassles, reminders, etc. My fee is in their system, so when they call we are in agreement. Perhaps they have cheaper notaries they use more often, but I do several a month for them.

I have been working with them for years. Never once had to call or email for payment. Always like clock work within 15 days. Sometimes 7 days even better.
