Cogent Closing Associates, LLC
After 95 days, after repeated statements and e-mail reminders, after repeated attempts to contact a live person I finally get a message from someone named Jon who said that my payment had somehow "fallen through the cracks". What a bunch of crap. I responded with yet another copy of my invoice and a copy of the appointment confirmation and a brief note advising him that I had filed a complaint with the Atlanta Better Business Bureau. Unfortunately they (the BBB) responded that non-payment was not something they deal with and suggested a collection agency or small claim court action. Do you think a bunch of us could join together into one action, not necessarily a "class action" lawsuit but maybe a collection agency representing the group? Small businesses should not get taken advantage of especially in these tough economic times.

BBB Rating
Chip The BBB actually does very little, and the BBB rating is something you can buy! Pay, the BBB and you can display the torch!

Always, always gear your complaint as "failure to fulfill contractual obligations".
Cogent is a title company - you can file a complaint with their regulatory agency in GA (Bureau of Insurance?). Do some digging and try to find out who is the registered agent for Cogent - if it's an attorney then you can file a complaint with the GA State Bar against him/her (VERY effective).
